2.6 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 10/20 BlackHaddock (1709) - Shropshire, ENGLAND - APR 20, 2012
May 2010: My second pint at Pour 24 (New York, New York), Las Vegas.
After the Stone Ruination IPA this seemed a bit watery and weak, my fault for the other I ordered them I suppose.
Hops, like all US IPA’s this tries to outhop the next brewery, it failed though.
Pleasant mix of hops for aroma and bitterness, but laked the umph I’d just had with the Stones beer.
Can I call it an average US IPA?

One of the first beers one should think of when you hear someone talk about an IPA. Great aroma and flavor. Something that you could easily enjoy a few over the course of a night. Excellently crafted IPA!
3.6 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 14/20 mrjohnson (45) - - APR 13, 2012
Pours a clear orange color with a small white head that subsides very quickly leaving behind lacing on the glass. Aroma has a lot of citrus and orange. Taste starts off sweet caramel with a bitter end. Palate is surprisingly on the light side.

Poors clear darker yellow with white foam head, low carbonated. Good bitter and alcohol taste. Lasting taste, you enjoy long. Good temperature.
2.8 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 4/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 12/20 Phatman (122) - Ottawa, Ontario, CANADA - APR 12, 2012
Interesting concept that surely means the beers in the series should also be compared to each other. I havn’t had the opportunity however. Slightly confused as to whether this is experimentation or carfully thought out brew. Light sessionable flavours with a balanced hop presence. However, the ABV is certainly not sessionable.
3.7 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20 ThisWangsChung (113) - Leonardtown, Maryland, USA - APR 9, 2012
A: Pours a classic golden amber color with middling clarity and an offwhite, one finger head with average retention/lacing. S: There is a noticeable scent of grapefruit, however, there’s little else. Still, it’s an aroma that works just fine. T: This features an opening of subtle grapefruit, which transitions into a middle of crackery, almost biscuity malt; and it finishes with some piny flavors. I swear there’s hints of dark chocolate on the finish, too. All told, it’s good, but not as bold and interesting as initially pegged it to be. M: Medium bodied with a slightly dry finish that’s hardly overbearing. Incredibly smooth, refreshing, and well carbonated. O: As an IPA, I’d have no trouble whatsoever recommending it to people who’ve never had an IPA before. While it still holds a place in my heart as the first IPA I ever enjoyed, nowadays, it just doesn’t have the same sizzle anymore. Still a good, solid beer regardless. (3.55 on tap, 4.03 bottle)
3.5 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20 Chrisxx25 (57) - - APR 7, 2012
A nice healthy dose of citrus hops, not much else going on. A rather sweet ipa but nice and very drinkable.
3.5 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20 rdixon77 (97) - Georgia, USA - APR 5, 2012
Drank as part of the "continously-hopped challenge" (drinking 60, 75, 90, 120 minute DFH ipas).
The 60 minute is definitely the most sessionable of the four. Light golden pour with a slight amber hue. Decent lacing. Aroma has soft citrus smell. More grain than fruit. Hops are there, but not ever-present. Smooth palate, very drinkable.
I could see this as a well-hopped beer for people who think that they don’t like hops.
3.6 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 14/20 steindds (70) - - APR 4, 2012
Pours a light gold color with a 2 inch white head. Aroma is of that of grapefruit and pine. Taste is citrus, grapefruit, and bready malts. Nicely balanced that begins sweet with a good hop kick for a bitter finish. Medium bodied.
4.1 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 17/20 Lemke10 (67) - Janesville, Wisconsin, USA - APR 2, 2012
I picked up a 6pk of this at a small discount liquor store when I was passing through Illinois since you can no longer get Dogfish Head in Wisconsin.
Pours a clear, light amber color with a bubbly cream colored head. The scent of hops is strong with this beer, just as expected. The taste is smooth, refreshing, and deliciously hoppy. Other than the hops, there is a great blend of citrus and oaky flavors. Has nice bready after taste along with nice lacing that leaves a good wet feeling opposed to a dry finish. Overall very good and highly drinkable, a shame they ever left WI.
