5 AROMA 10/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 10/10 PALATE 5/5 OVERALL 20/20
The best beer I have ever tasted. The complexities of flavor and balance of these bitters and citrus have me so immensely wanting more. I come from Saint Louis where Dogfish Head is not sold a trip to DC finally allowed the opportunity for me to try the venerated object of my desire.

3.4 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 14/20
12 fl oz bottle at home on 15/08/15. 6% bottled May 2015. Clear amber orange, sparkling, dense foamy white head endures and leaves full lacing. Aroma is musty caramel, peppery biscuits. Body is medium, smooth, soft carbonation. Taste is soft caramelly biscuit malts, resin, grapefruit citrus, a little ’lagery’ with a peppery finish. Nice enough, average IPA.

Keg at the Hanging Bat beverage establishment. Clear golden with white head. Aroma of grapefruit, pine, sweat. Taste of caramel, biscuit, pine and grapefruit. Dry and lightly bitter. A disappointment in the modern world of ipas.

4 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 17/20
Ive been waiting a long time to try this, because of all the good reviews Ive heard about it. Beautiful copper color with thin white head and slight bit of lacing. Smells like pine and citrus. The hops are definitely there. This IPA is very smooth, the hops taste is noticealble but not with a harsh after bite like most IPAs. I’m sold!

Originally rated on 12/21/07. "I am not a fan of I.P.A.’s but i thought i would give the doghead a spin since i heard such good things about it. It wasnt as hoppy as other i.p.a.’s but still had a decent bite to it, with slight hints of citrus and malt flavor. Although its not my favorite style this is a quailty beer worth trying.

3.8 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 16/20
Translucent gold hue with a minimally sized white head. Pleasant tropical fruit, grapefruit, hop, and caramel aroma, albeit slightly imperceptible. Light to mid bodied. Very complex and unique flavour. Pineapple, mango, grapefruit, hops, spruce, and caramel with a slightly sweet and bitter dry finish. Delicious.

355 ml bottle. Enjoyed at San Diego, CA. Pours a cloudy golden colour with a small foamy head. Aroma of caramel, a bit of floral hops and grapefruit. Flavour of crisp floral bitterness, a bit of graininess, grass and some metallic notes. Sweet. Not fresh.
