Swolf3 (252), Elkton, Maryland, USA Jul 14, 2008 Poured a golden amber color. taste crisp clean and smooth. An easy beer to drink. Quite good WesKBob (317), Bethany, Oklahoma, USA Jul 14, 2008 Pours a clear amber with a thick head with decent retention and good lacing. Aroma is pine and lots of floral hops. Flavor, again, is hoppy with some pine notes. But also some tart citrusy qualities, like grapefruit. Finish is dry, but not as bitter as some IPAs. Good stuff. erics (1), , Iowa, USA does not count Jul 12, 2008 I cannot get a handle on the aroma. Nice appearance. Full, white head, almost a citrus aroma, but an almost carmel/hoppy taste to it. It finishes well, not as bitter as other IPAs. In general, I think I like this one! satan165 (541), River Grove, Illinois, USA Jul 12, 2008 Updated: May 5, 2009is it all downhill from here? this seems to be the perfect assault of hops before things just get a bit silly. i too am addicted to IIPAs but many are not balanced, nor could they be. this is! the hops are actually flavorful and complex but dont knock you unconscious. if an IIPA is crack cocaine, this is like chewing coca leaves. floral, herbal, citrus....and something else that ive never been able to put my finger on. it seems to ’dirty’ my pallate everytime. this is purely american but it reminds me of a real british IPA in terms of its class, balance and good taste (literally and figuratively). if i had to get stuck with this beer forever, i think id survive. Ceebs25 (217), Naperville, Illinois, USA Jul 11, 2008 Bottle. Light but nice spring floral citrus hop aroma, nothing too crazy in the smell. Pours a medium-small fizzy chalk white head, dissipates some, decent lacing, tangerine orange color, light carbonation, fairly transparent. Flavor and palate are really solid, nice sweet citrus hop start, then hits a great caramel maple malt middle that continues with the citrus grapefruit peach fruit bitter ending with a nice linger, very smooth, medium body, slightly sticky. Great balance, I’m a big fan. kiefdog (1567), Tampa, Florida, USA Jul 10, 2008 12oz bottle from Willow Bend Liquors (Tampa, FL). Pours a clear copper color with a one-finger creamy white head that settles slowly. Some lacing present on glass. Aroma is grapefruit, hops, earthy notes, and hints of lemon/line. Flavor is strongly of ripe grapefruit, hops, pine, some sweet maltiness toward finish. Medium-bodied and somewhat creamy mouthfeel. Some hoppy bitterness on finish. Nice IPA. thejoeshow (232), Saint Paul, Minnesota, USA Jul 8, 2008 12 oz bottle. Pours a nice clear amber color with an aggressive off white head. Very beautiful looking beer. This is how beer looks when I close my mind. The nose on this beer is as beautiful as it looks. Very nice hop aroma without being too overwhelming. There are notes of pine and a little citrus with a slight earthy note mixed in. Very wonderful flavor! The hops are there but not tongue scraping. Nicely balanced. Mostly a fruity hop flavor with a bit of spice and almost a wood flavor in the middle. This beer is wonderful! I could see myself drinking this beer all the time. ucusty (1871), Wake Forest, North Carolina, USA Jul 8, 2008 Updated: Sep 9, 2008Dark amber pour fluffy off-white head with plentiful lace. Piney hop aroma. flovor dominated by pine. not as cloying as the 90 or 120
