Blasphemies (45), Ontario, Canada Apr 26, 2008 Citrus and pine armoa. Lots of hops,a bit bitter, and a bit of nice fruit. Very good. Lothore (276), California, USA Apr 26, 2008 A- Pours a clear, reddish yellow color with a tiny head that fades quickly. Very few carbonation bubbles evident.
S- Very dominate smell, sweet and malty with a piney hop character hidden behind the sweetness.
T- Sweet to begin with, roasted flavor with a slight hopiness at the end. I thought with this beer, the 60 was better flavor wise than the 90 because the additional hops just did not seem to behove it (90 min).
M- A bit thick with a medium amount of carbonation.
D- This is very drinkable and would be easy to session. More toned down and perhaps better balanced version than the 90 min. smith4498 (829), Miami, Florida, USA Apr 26, 2008 Pours clear orangish color with white head. Strong aromas of grapefruit and pine. Flavor starts sweet amd malty with a big hop finish. Medium body with average carbonation and an oily mouthfeel. Above average IPA. dmac (1423), Toms River, New Jersey, USA Apr 25, 2008 12 oz botle from Spirits RB. Pours a clear thin bodied orange with an average bubbly white head, not the most impressive looking beer but hey they can’t all be 5s. Citrusy hop aroma with hints of pine balanced out by some caramel malt and graininess. Flavor is earthy with a good dose of sweetness, grapefruit and citrus rind. Medium bodied with average carboantion. Nice but after 90 minute IPA I need the extra 30 minutes. BeerBaron617 (306), Novi, Michigan, USA Apr 25, 2008 Very good IPA. When compared to Bell’s two hearted, this is a bit less fruity and more smokey. But very tasty, and definitly worth a try. jjuf1853 (467), Land O Lakes, Florida, USA Apr 24, 2008 Bottle pours a golden orange color with a foamy white head. Aroma is mostly pine, citrus, and hops. Great flavor, nice amount of bitterness and good balance. Very tasty, but not as good as the 90 minute. goldbrew (99), USA Apr 24, 2008 To my palate Dogfish beers are always so overpowering. They are a real basher of a beer. This is a flavorful beer loaded with hops that paralyze the tongue no doubt, but I never get a satisfied feel after having a poured bottle. It always sits so heavy compared to many other strong beers.Sure it beats the tar out of most every beer, but in the elite realm to me it’s not quite there. CanIHave4Beers (836), Des Moines, Iowa, USA Apr 24, 2008 Updated: Mar 12, 2009Spicy, floral, grassy, and fruity aroma. Big fluffy head, light amber, almost orangish tint, with just a light cloudiness.
Taste is very hoppy, but with a suprising sweetness that nicley balances the hops bitterness without giving in too strongly to overly citrusy flavors. Flavors include hops, spices, a touch of toasted oats, and of course a light fruity citrus. Palate is particularly sharp and not terribly well rounded, that is not to say that perhaps it ought to be in a beer of this character.
