JulienHuxley (166), Trois-Rivieres, Quebec, Canada Aug 19, 2009 Updated: Sep 24, 2009Bottle. Tasted side by side with bieropholie Cascade Plus. Gold pour with almost no head. Grassy hop aroma with a hint of citrus, I get a sweet smell kind of like coffee cake or butterscotch instant cappucino very cookie. Taste, I got the idea of the coniferous taste the pine and cedar they mention in the brewer’s description. A bit lemony just before the bitter finish. Medium-long body. Fun beer. douglas88 (1557), Salt Lake City, Utah, USA Aug 18, 2009 12 oz bottle thanks to kryptic, bottled on 5/19/09- so quite fresh. Pours a perfectly clear copper color with a medium white head. The aroma, well this is odd; the aroma is huge nutty notes, loads of peanuts and very little hops. The flavor is similar; a tropical blend of hops and huge nut flavors. A coffee flavor in the finish. Wow is this weird. I have no idea why, but this is not a hoppy beer. Off batch, or whatever, this was interesting and very different. It has hops, but man it was odd. mike67 (74), , New Jersey, USA Aug 16, 2009 12oz bottle. Pours hazy bronze in color with a long lasting foamy head. Nose is delicious mix of spicy hops and citrus fruit. Spicy hops and grapefruit on the pallet nicely balanced by caramel malt.
Finish is balanced in the beginning with the lingering hop bitterness in the end. The brew lacks an IPA style hoppy punch but very tasty and refreshing neverthereless.
drowland (1360), Tallahassee, Florida, USA Aug 15, 2009 Balanced, which has almost come to be unexpected for this style... instead of a giant smack of hops, you get a backbone of sweet maltiness that works out well in the end. MmmcKay (269), Brentwood, Tennessee, USA Aug 15, 2009 Golden in color with just a touch of brown. Aromas of pine needles, wood, citrus especially lemon. Lush bitter hops are very generous but not overwhelming. Better on draft than out of the bottle. I’m not quite as high on this beer as I used to be. nittanytide (33), Pennsylvania, USA Aug 14, 2009 From the tap, poured a golden yellow with an inviting hoppy aroma. Piney hop taste that was very smooth and very refreshing. Classic IPA. bobman006 (38), New Jersey, USA Aug 13, 2009 Tap. Pours golden with modest head. Aroma is malty and floral, with citrus notes. Taste gives a floral hop bitterness with orange notes, giving way to a very malty backbone. Flavors of orange, pine, and candied sugar. A little too malty for my taste in IPA’s but is a decent brew.
