| 3.7 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 3/5 | 8/10 | 4/5 | 15/20 | Nov 23, 2007 12 oz. bottle from mj. Pour is clear orange red with a very slight off white head. Aroma of sweet floral, and some piney hops. Taste is fairly bitter to start, though it mellows in the middle to a nice hoppy floral and grapefruit, ending again with the bitter hop finish. Palate is nice, good body to it. Not much of a malt presence, though not really overpowering with the hops. Overall nice. Thanks Mike! jimhilt (1695), Bow, New Hampshire, USA
| 2.3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 5/10 | 2/5 | 4/10 | 2/5 | 10/20 | Aug 21, 2004 Pours a three-fingered white head that fades slowly leaving some lace. Cloudy amber color. Very hoppy nose. Medium carbonation and medium bodied. Nothing like the 90 & 120 minute IPAs Dogfish has, this is a ’normal’ IPA that is loaded with hops - hopheads line up for this one. $2.00 for a 12oz bottle from Colonial Spirits, Acton, Ma. hayduke (1692), Eureka, California, USA
| 4.1 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 4/5 | 8/10 | 4/5 | 17/20 | Dec 20, 2009 Courtesy of Joe McPhee. This poured a clear amber with a nice white head that had good retention and left excellent lacing. The nose is is citrus and floral hops. Solid mouthfeel and very smooth on the tongue. The flavor is rich with good balance between the hops and malts. Very well balanced. The finish is long and bitter. A superb IPA. GG (1689), NorCal, California, USA
| 2.6 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 4/10 | 4/5 | 5/10 | 3/5 | 10/20 | Sep 14, 2007 What a disappointment. I was expecting an IPA and what I got was barely a decent APA. I have another 5 bottles of this stuff and honestly I’d rather just drink SNPA. It has more character, hops AND it’s less expensive. Anyways, on to the beer itself. Aroma was very, very toned down with a squeak of hops (spicy, citric and fruity) and malts (slightly sweet). There’s nothing really in the nose to hang your sense on. I waited for it to liven up and it just never came around (real disappointment). Appearance was stunning with a soft golden orange that looked incredibly inviting, big fluffy off-white orange tinged head with nice staying power with almost no lacing. Mouthfeel was soft, slightly creamy with a overall gentleness to it that I liked very much. My first taste of this beer really confused me. I was expecting some agressive hop profile but this was really, really a letdown. Subtle hops was all I got (some orangy citris notes, and a bit floral) with a really weak malt backbone. Finish was slightly dry. I know that I am used to an in your face IPA and expected something along these lines with this beer, given DFH rep. Quite a disappoitment as I said. Not a horrible beer at all, but just boring. sloth (1689), Ceciltucky, Co., Maryland, USA

| 3.6 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 3/5 | 7/10 | 4/5 | 15/20 | Apr 30, 2008 Very solid american IPA. Lots of hop aroma and flavor. Slightly fruity, but due to hops, not actuall fruit. Pleasant mouthfeel but does leave my mouth very dry; I’m always thirstier after than before I drank it. Honestly, I find it over-hyped even though it is pretty good. douglas88 (1686), Salt Lake City, Utah, USA
| 3.1 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 3/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 13/20 | Aug 18, 2009 12 oz bottle thanks to kryptic, bottled on 5/19/09- so quite fresh. Pours a perfectly clear copper color with a medium white head. The aroma, well this is odd; the aroma is huge nutty notes, loads of peanuts and very little hops. The flavor is similar; a tropical blend of hops and huge nut flavors. A coffee flavor in the finish. Wow is this weird. I have no idea why, but this is not a hoppy beer. Off batch, or whatever, this was interesting and very different. It has hops, but man it was odd.
