DATE TASTED: August 17, 2013 ... GLASSWARE: Howard’s Pub pint... OCCASION: a good Saturday night, plain and simple... APPEARANCE: active body sports a tan orange tint and a creamy white head that laces decoratively--attractive... AROMA: complex citrus with plum, spices (vanilla and pepper), toffee/caramel malts and that classic DFH yeast strain...PALATE: full-bodied, viciously arresting the teeth and tongue; warming but inviting ...TASTE: ridiculously robust bubblegum and toffee blend with hops and spices to produce an IPA with depth and drinkability--a victory... OVERALL: such exquisite balance--much like the 120, but with less punch and more possibility for multiple bottles in a night’s enjoyment--could almost be one of the twelve I’d leave to the desert island with...

12oz bottle from Sam’s Discount Liquor Store Las Vegas. Orange amber big foamy head. Leafy bitter hop aroma. Woody hop flavour. Bitter boiled sweet hop aftertaste. Really good IPA.

6%ABV. IPA. Nose is beery and actually surprisingly wheat-like. There are no strong malty aromas. The nose is lightly piney, but less so than you’d expect from an IPA. Subtle floral dimension to the nose, maybe carnations. The palate is nutty and malty with hazelnuts, almonds and some nice toasty flavors. There is some wheat toast, some multigrain toast, some graham cracker richness and sweetness. Hop presence is pronounced, but less so than you might expect from an American IPA. There are some resinous, piney flavors. The finish is lightly bitter and brief. I liked this one but not as much as the 90 minute.

Nice malty aroma, small head. Pours golden slightly cloudy. Drinks light with mild bitterness and very well balanced.

Clear medium amber with a small white head that doesn’t last and leaves some sparse lace. Nose is fairly muted pine, citrus, grass and bready malts. Light toffee sweetness and a medium- bitterness. Mouth is medium slick with average carbonation and a dry finish. Very balanced and drinkable but no outstanding character.

Vom Fass in der Brauerei in Milton, DE. Helles kastanienfarbenes Bier mit feinem hohem Schaum. Fruchtig-malziges Arom. Grapefruit, Aprikose, Kräuter, etwas Baumharz. Sehr runder und vollmundiger Geschmack. Jeder Schluck eine Freude. Langer bitterer Abgang. Ein echter Craftbeer Klassiker!

I love this beer. Hate to use the term ’well rounded’ but this has it all. Earthy, grassy and even wheat notes. A subtle creaminess to it. Flavoursome. Lovely in the mouth, even better going down. Great on its own or with food. Very versatile IPA that deserves it notable credibility.
