nefarious (52), grand blanc, Michigan, USA May 7, 2008 Nice aroma a little on the mild side, and good copperish-orange color and small head head. Definately a stand out in the crowded IPA class, the cedar flavor set it apart. wonderful and very drinkable. many more please!
pope_phred (88), Plainfield, Illinois, USA Aug 20, 2008 Poured from the bottle into a pint glass. Pour produced a clear, amber body topped by a medium, off-white head which mostly diminished to a light dusting of foam. Light effervescence played around in the glass for some time. Nice hops characteristic with some grapefruit notes to the nose. This is a medium bodied, moderately carbonated IPA with a medium mouthfeel punctuated by the typical hops bitterness. Overall profile is well balanced, favoring the dry, bitter hops, rounded out by slight malting. Hops aftertaste is minimal, favoring instead to show up in the oft-welcomed "hopurps." This is a fine, easy drinking IPA well worth your time and money. RedSox2004 (152), Pacific Palisades, California, USA Aug 20, 2008 Generous head, golden color with great lacing. Pale malt underneath the citrsuy hops aromas. Taste is less intense than the 90 Minute, yet still generously hoppy with a well-balanced malt offset. In the background are lemon and orange, and slight pine and pepper flavors. Lots of carbonation, crisp with a dry aftertaste that is dominated by the hops. Dogfish is great - wish they were on the West Coast. shalloWMeans (113), Florence, Kentucky, USA Aug 17, 2008 The least continously hopped of Dogfish’s one-of-a-kind IPA’s (60,90,120), this beer is still crisp and well balanced, and has a long, drying, yet fresh and fruity finish. It makes an excellent session beer, being lively, herbal and full bodied. The intense grassy and floral hops carry notes of tropical citrus fruit and papaya, and in the aroma bring unique resiny
notes of lemon-pepper and chives. Excellently crafted, as all of Dogfish Head’s beers are, and one that I enjoy before a big summer dinner to work up a raging appetite.
matt7215 (539), Cambridge, Ontario, Canada Aug 15, 2008 12 oz bottle from premier gourmet in buffalo. pours light orange/golden with a persitant of white head. aromas of grapefruit and pale malt undertones. flavours are a big grapefruit hop punch held in check by the malt backbone. not overly bitter. best IPA i ever had for session purposes. checkmatei1 (239), Willow Grove, USA Aug 14, 2008 Bottle: Poured a light yellow color with not too much head. The aroma was somewhat fruity sweet and hoppy. The flavor was light, refreshing, well balanced with some hints of orange peel and hops. Overall, one of the best IPA’s I’ve had.
