chokmah33 (88), Bremerton, Washington, USA Mar 27, 2008 Harsh nose biting resiny citrus hops bouquet. Some fruit (apple, pineapple) and a little grease .
Soapy texture, awesome face twisting bitter in the mouth, that smooths out nicely.
Acidic flavors of grapefruit/perfume hops. Mellows out to a bitter fruity finish.
JoeinUccle (624), Brussels, Belgium Jul 22, 2008 Draft and bottle. Golden color, filmy white head. Somewhat citrus-hoppy aroma with caramel-malty backbone. Moderate, grassy bitterness with sweetish, juicy, honey-malt-like center. Bitter aftertaste, but quenching. Still a great all-around IPA. tjw (5), , Massachusetts, USA does not count Jul 20, 2008 Bottle. I love this beer. Lives up to the billing as a cask beer in a bottle. A clear golden color. Hoppy, but slightly grassy aroma. Flavor is not as hoppy as some IPAs. Has a nice long finish. I look forward to trying the 90 minute and 120 minute versions. gpekar (117), USA Jul 20, 2008 Updated: Jul 21, 2008Poured a clear golden amber color with nice carbonation bubbles rising in the glass. There was a nice foamy head that went down to about 1/2" fairly quickly, but it left a decent amount of lacing. There was a strong hoppy aroma with a citrus/grapefruit scent. There was a nice initial hop bite with a hint of grapefruit. The flavor rolled into a nice bitter finish that lasted well on the palate. This beer went well with spicy sushi. Great beer!! ansermadide (161), Kyle, Texas, USA Jul 19, 2008 (Sample from July 18, 2008 Beer Club Meeting) Very clear orange with frothy head… smells much like pine. Like a christmas tree, really! Very hoppy, too. Flavor is lightly sweet, hoppy. I can feel the fumes going up my nose… but ever so gently. Easier going down than the 90 or 120. A good, stable brew! I’d stock my beer fridge with a 6 of this before I would a 6 of SN Pale Ale. DrDavid (20), , Vermont, USA Jul 19, 2008 Bottle. Very pleasing IPA. Uniformly good in aroma, appearance and flavor. Intensely citrusy, mainly grapefruit. Moderate head.
