4.1 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 5/5 OVERALL 18/20 alexchafe (29) - , - MAY 13, 2009
From a bottle. Nice orange-yellow with slow rising low carbonation. Generous white frothy head produces decent lacing. The aroma is very spicey, herby, grassy. there’s loads of quality hops in here. The flavour continues to deliver with more spices and herbs, sweet lemon citrus, with a suprising grapefruity backend that mixed extremely well with the bitterness. There are touches of caramel and honey in there. It’s complex! Very smooth palate, with slight fizz beside the bitter hops, biting at your tongue and cheeks.

On tap at Gingerman in NYC. Pours clear gold with a large white head. Head lingers and leaves a nice coating down the glass. Floral and orange and some earthy aroma. Crisp orange flavor with nice clean bittering. Malty backbone adds balance with the hops.

Bottle - pours light copper with an average white head. A good hop aroma and citrus taste to it. Pretty good IPA but not as strong as I thought it would be.

Pretty normal for ipa. Filtered beer. Nothing fancy. 6% alc. by vol. Dogfish never disappoints.

Have I really not talked about you before dogfishheas? For shame. Very sweet and hoppy. Not as xtreme as 120 probably. Not as great as other people might think.
3.4 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20 KajII (338) - Macon, North Carolina, USA - FEB 1, 2012
Botte. The pour was a light clear golden amber with a slight yellow hue and an average sized (1-2 finger) white frothy head that pretty much lasted throughout and had excellent clingy fluffy lacing.
The aroma had a moderate dose of grass and pine hops, a light grain malt and a moldy yeast and had decent notes of caramel and citrus (grapefruit and orange).
The taste was light, sweet and hoppy with a notes of caramel and orange at first and finished a bit bitterer with a nice touch of citrus at the end. The flavor lasted only a short time with the taste fading rather quickly after the swallow.
Mouthfeel was just a bit past light in body with a dry yet watery texture and a semi lively carbonation.
Overall a nice light, refreshing and tasty IPA, a brew that one could definitely drink quite a few of.

Pours decent pale copper with a two finger thick cream colored head. Nice hoppy nose with citrus and subtle pine. A bit floral as well. Same in the flav with good balance and a dry finish.
