4.1 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 17/20
Pours from a 750 mL bottle. One of the prettiest beers I have seen pours a bright slightly hazy orange with a 3 inch white, well retained head with gorgeous lacing. Aroma is not as strong as other IPAs but is well-balanced. It starts with orange peel and tangerine but is counterbalanced by the strong scents of Carmel and maple coming through. Much more of a malt and maple presence than a normal IPA. Thin but appropriate carbonation and a slick resinous mouth feel. The taste is initially comprised of citrusy and perky hop presence but is followed by a very pleasant and balancing caramel and maple flavor. The maple lingers long on the finish expertly balancing out the hops. An unexpectedly awesome IPA. I will definitely drink again.

750 ml bottle from Homer321- thanks again, bro! Pours a hazy orange color with a big, foamy, bubbly off-white head that takes a long time to settle - pretty much never does - that laces the glass heavily. Aroma of toast, leaves, florals, pale and sweet malts, straw, and peanuts. Flavor of toasted, sweet, pale, and caramel malts, soap, florals, orange peel, burnt sugar, and tropical fruits. Medium-bodied, with medium carbonation and a malty, resinous mouthfeel. Admittedly, this wasnít the freshest bottle. Iíll rate again when I try a fresher one. Nonetheless, itís a solid beer that holds up; Iíd argue itís more of a double IPA, anyway.

Rating from March 2013....Bottle...Wow, my two favorite IPAís blended....so by default does this become my favorite?.....Pours a perfect copper with a fluffy off-white head...the lacing sticks immediately after the foam settles...Iím having a little trouble finding the maple syrup at first, shows up a tad mid-palate, then the hops take over and finish...not upset by any means...this beer is perfect in my eyes and mouth!

Unexpectedly good. Love the addition of the syrup. Itís definitely not too sweet and Iíd argue that itís not very sweet at all. Refreshing.

3.6 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20
Slightly hazy copper pour with a big cream colored head. Aromas of citrus/floral hops. Nice malt character to balance the hops with this brew. Flavor is big hops presence but well balanced with the malt backbone. Donít get any maple syrup character or any maple character really with this one at all. I was a bit disappointed by that but still a good brew overall.

3.9 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 16/20
Tasted a small sample at a BeerThief gathering. The beer poured up a pale orange with a creamy head. The aroma wasnít typical IPA, with the maple coming forward and more malt than I expected. Taste is also maple forward, but with some bitterness. Feel is very full. Probably a good beer, but the maple was more surprising that I had anticipated, so Iím not sure I was crazy about it.

3.8 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 16/20
Taste is of sweet fruits, bitter grapefruit and some caramel backbone. Probably some honey. Medium bodied and dry. Finishes nicely bittersweet with some length. Better than the typical DFH offering, with a nice IPA blend occuring.

3.8 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 16/20
Bottle 750ml: cloudy, hazy golden golden amber. Great light white head. Slightly funky wet dog aroma. Malt, floral, pine, citrus. Old oak? Honey and malt. Moderately high hips lift. Over ripe stone fruit or tropical. Moderate to high sweetness. Moderate bitterness. Very good weight and length. Not sour. Balanced rich. Almost to funky for the west coast yet still has great flavour. Very rich and powerful. Palate is better than the nose.
