Johnny Cask has entered the building! We’ve retrofitted a 15 barrel tank to perfectly produce a very special cask conditioned ale (so, we have a little time to play around during winters at the Delaware coast). This beer, known as Dogfish Head 75 Minute IPA is a blend of 60 and 90 Minute IPAs with a special whole leaf cascade dry-hopping session. Post-hopping the beer gest transferred into firkins and dosed with fresh yeast and maple syrup from the ole family homestead (actually the first batch will be re-fermented with maple syrup from the farm up the road from ours since ours won’t be ready until late March.

Only the ratings for bottles and single-cask pours of this should be rated. The 50/50 blends of 60 and 90 where they come from different taps are not rateable, and do not belong here.

Floback (550) - Indianapolis, Indiana, USA - NOV 4, 2012
Bottle from Total Wine. Pours a cloudy amber/orange body with a massive inch long off-white head. The nose is fruity and resinous with citrus and piney hops. The flavor is explosive with hops; big notes of pine tree, perfume, citrus, underlying hints of biscuit and malt. Lively carbonation and full body. The hops continue to pop in the mouth long after a sip is enjoyed. Nice work as usual from DFH! ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

From the 11/2012 3R6P tasting. +++ Sampled from a 750 ml brown bottle this beer poured a golden color with a huge foamy/creamy white head that lingered forever and left decent lacing. The aroma was semi sweet pine, grapefruit and a touch of bread. The flavor was dryish and bitter pine and grapefruit with hints of bread, pepper and maple. Medium length pine and grapefruits finish. Medium length finish. Ok but I had hoped for much better.

marcus (8685) - Sacramento, California, USA - NOV 4, 2012
Bottle from City Beer. Pours amber with a thick white head and a citrus aroma. There is a medium-bodied pale malt flavor with a carbonated finish and just the right amount of bitterness.

Bottle. Orange golden with a big expanding white head. Aroma is lots of citrus , stone pine and some maple. Lots of bright citrus hop taste, with some caramel and maple syrup malt body. Really nice balanced beer that might be the best of the minutes series. Very drinkable, had no problem crushing a 750.

Bottle. This might be my favorite of the Dogfish "minute" IPA’s. The label pretty much says it all. Not too big, not too small. Citrus hop scent, perfume, sweet caramel. Foamy white head over a very carbonated, bubbly bronze pour. Medium body, tiny fizz feel, slightly syrupy finish. Citrus hop flavor, sweet sugary note on the finish kind of like an orange slice candy. Excellent.

Bottle. Hazy orange with white head. Smells citrusy, bread, yeasty. Tastes smooth, nice citrus, pine, a bit sweet, really balanced. Pretty carbonated. Silky. Very good.

Nephilium (1627) - Cleveland, Ohio, USA - NOV 2, 2012
Mild grassy hop aroma, the maple is not noticeable. It pours a clear light amber with an over the top white head. Interesting flavor, with leafy hop notes, and a lingering bitter finish. Light on the palate, with a touch of slickness. Not a bad beer, although I don’t think it will be a go to beer for me.

Bomber, pours hazy honey w/ towering sudsy head, fresh resiny hop and fruity ester aroma, clean malt sweetness with resiny hop and that classic Ringwood character thoughout, finishes nicely dry and sharp, solid

At the Alehouse in Falls Church. Golden with little head. Not much aroma. Taste is a nice mix of floral and citrusy hops. Dry with a nice carb. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone
