Johnny Cask has entered the building! We’ve retrofitted a 15 barrel tank to perfectly produce a very special cask conditioned ale (so, we have a little time to play around during winters at the Delaware coast). This beer, known as Dogfish Head 75 Minute IPA is a blend of 60 and 90 Minute IPAs with a special whole leaf cascade dry-hopping session. Post-hopping the beer gest transferred into firkins and dosed with fresh yeast and maple syrup from the ole family homestead (actually the first batch will be re-fermented with maple syrup from the farm up the road from ours since ours won’t be ready until late March.

Only the ratings for bottles and single-cask pours of this should be rated. The 50/50 blends of 60 and 90 where they come from different taps are not rateable, and do not belong here.

At tasting in brewery. Dark gold. Great nose of grapefruit and pine. Taste is sweeter an less hoppy than expected. Could use some more carbonation - maybe keg was a bit flat. Good, but no 90 minute. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

750mL bottle, bottled on 5/13/14. Poured cloudy medium orange with some nice white lacing. The aroma picked up sweet caramel and maple syrup topped by mostly citrus hops.. really nice, but the hops seemed muted. The flavor found sweet caramel and maple syrup again (more maple on the back end and through the finish), with spicy pine and citrus bitterness around.. almost oaky toward the back.. finished sweet, but with a nice peppery kick. Medium-bodied with fairly full carbonation.. not as hoppy as I hoped for, but it was mighty tasty.

Bottle @ AaB vs Apoel CL tasting. Hazy amber body with a large white head. Hops, malt, syrup, sweet. Not what I expected, but still good.

Bottle @ Champions League Kvalifikation, Aab - Apoel. Pours hazy orange with a creamy white head and lacings. Orange, citrus and bread. Harmonic and balanced nose. Flavor is caramel, bread and a whisper of citrus. Medium bodied. Short bitter end.

This pours a hazy, dirty yellow color with a thick, foamy beige head. The aroma is full of malts and hints of hops. The taste is big, complex and full of flavors. The maple really smooths out the flavor of the IPA giving it a much weaker hoppy flavor than I expected. Very interesting and a must try as with any Dogfish head beer.

Transfer from BA review on 11-3-12- Poured from 750 ml bottle into a pint glass Appearance – The beer pours a nice copper orange color with a huge just off white head. The head has fantastic retention, fading over time to give a nice level of retention. Smell – The aroma is sweet and hoppy. There is a nice backbone of a bready aroma mixed with a citrus hop smell of a grapefruit nature. Mixed with these aromas are sweet smells of tangerine and caramel with the lightest maple aroma. Taste – The taste begins with a bready flavor with a subtle citrus hop flavor of a grapefruit nature and some caramel sweetness. As the taste advances the hop flavors intensify with the grapefruit citrus getting stronger and being joined by some pine flavors. With the hop flavors getting stronger, a light tangerine sweetness and a hint of maple comes to the tongue. The hop flavors remain relatively constant to the end while the sweetness and breadiness increases slightly. This produces a lightly bitter and semi-sweet flavor to linger on the tongue. Mouthfeel – The body of the beer is creamy and smooth with a carbonation level that is slightly below average. The flavors are quite nice for the sweeter as well as hoppier flavors and allow all the nice taste to soak into the tongue. Overall - A tasty IPA with a creamy body and a good balance. A nice sibling of the other minutes and one to give a go to if you can find it.

nice hoppy smell, fruity ....taste is decently hoppy but not bad at all especially for an IPA...very smooth and not too bitter...malt is able to be tasted...decent but not as good as their 90 minute...missing a bit of depth...but much better if you sip fast as it rids the astringency...

Pours a hazy golden orange color. The nose is light grapefruit citrus with hints of malt and brown sugar. The mouthfeel is coating but slightly flabby. The maple syrup barely comes through on the finish - as flavor not sweet.

Look: pours a dark orange. White thick head that hangs around. Slightly cloudy. Smell: sweet. Syrupy. Tropical fruit. Coconuts. Pineapple. Taste: dank. Tropical fruit. Pineapple. Mango. Fresh berries. Ginger ale. Feel: light and refreshing. Not extremely dry and bitter like a normal IPA. But just enough. Overall: great beer. Good to sit next to the grill with while waiting on dinner.
