Jow (12), New York, USA Jul 25, 2009 Drank four out of bottle during poker game, i think one more may have hindered my play. Great mouthfeel and finish, coats your entire palate, plenty of apricot and molasses flavors. Pretty much loved everything about this beer. AndreasJaeger (101), Helsingborg, Sweden Jul 23, 2009 Bottle. Amber with off white head. Hoppy citrusy aroma sweet peaches. Taste sweet malt peaches and a lot of hops citrus grapefruit herbs and more hops. Long bitter finish rampmaster (314), Alden, New York, USA Jul 20, 2009 Presentation: It was poured from a brown 12oz bottle into a pint glass.
Appearance: On top there is a very good tall just off white colored head. It is very thick and creamy, long lasting and makes cool rings of lace on the glass after each sip. The body has a slight hazy appearance and a golden amber color.
Smell: The aroma is full of sweet malt and pine resin and citrus hops.
Taste/Mouth Feel: The flavor hits you with a full bodied punch of piney, resiny and citrus hops balanced by thick sweet malt and sweet warming brandy like alcohol. It finishes with more herbal and piney bitterness. The palate has a smooth mellow carbonation with a smooth slick almost sticky texture.
Notes: I’m not a big hop head but this is a hop bomb that I can get into. It is big, bold and very tasty.
DeadGirl (192), West Palm Beach, Florida, USA Jul 15, 2009 On draught at Rattle ’N’ Hum (NYC): By far one of the most memorable beers I’ve tasted. Notes of apicots, peaches, cranberry, maple syrup, and raisins... So delicious! It’s one bountiful fruit basket in a pint. I’ll come back to this one again and again. For sure. aenimopiate (142), The United States of Texas, Texas, USA Jul 14, 2009 I don’t normally like a hoppy beer, but wanted to give this one a shot. I’m pretty impressed. Although the hoppiness is a little too much for me, as i normally prefer a more malty, yeasty type of beer. This one has a good mouthfeel and a very strong finish. Hop hop hoppy hop. Vertical Bacon Strips (874), Edmonton, Alberta, Canada Jul 14, 2009 This beer followed Urthel Samaranathanantnatnantntn at the Freakin Frog in Vegas and it certainly lived up to the expectation without considering how my wallet just got raped.
Poured out a clear amber brew with a great light tan that was quite thick and left average lacing. The aroma is insane! One of the best I’ve ever smelt. Beautifully floral with peaches, apricot nectar, more fruits that I didn’t have time to identify, weak pine, raisins maybe, thick malts. The taste was incredible form first sip - the wonderful aroma just set that up. Intense hops of grapefruit, orange, lemon, sweet bready malts, soft caramel, tastes like flowers smell, weak molasses. It’s all just put together so nicely. Every sip I told my wife that this is one of the best tasting beers I’d ever had in my life. Smooth on the mouth with good, soft carbonation, deceiving bitterness that was no where near as taste bud crippling as I figured it would be. The shit part of this is that I had to attempt to review it and drink it in under 5 minutes. But still, what a five minutes that was. BeerGuyTWMore (48), USA Jul 13, 2009 wow! Pours a copper-gold with off white head laces nicely. Aromas of sweet malt, dark fruits some caramelly molasses, citrus hop - orange, and noticeable alcohol. Creamy-medium body malts upfront and then bite into the hops (citrus, pine) which tingles the top of your mouth while your tongue takes in the sugary malt, dark fruit molasses. "Brandied fruitcake" is pretty dead on - 294 calories of deliciousness! Sweet raisin contrasts the piney bitterness and alcohol to round off the finish(last a good while). You have to expect a 9ABV to be sweet...all around just fantastic!
