I’m not a huge IPA fan, but this one is my hands-down favorite of the IPAs. Pours a golden-orange-copper color with a great head and nice lacing. Hoppy aroma with hints of coffee and caramel. Mouth taste is initially sweet with a bitter, hoppy finish. Clean finish with little aftertaste.

bottle, pours deep gold/copper with a medium fluffy white head. Strong hop aroma, some grapefruit and cascade noticable. Sweet malty body, some carmel notes and a wallop of hop bitterness in the finish. Ends dry with a citrus rind bitterness in the back of the mouth. Solid.

Bottle, about 1 year old. Orange/copper color with a low, fine head. Spicy, piney hops, big malt (chocolate and caramel) background in the aroma. Very fruity, from lemons to cherries to raisins. Flavor includes a bit of smoke, wood, chocolate, alcohol heat, and something vinous. Very complex, with a very bitter finish. Great, though the hop aroma is way down compared to a fresh one. This one should be consumed right away for sure!

I’m not normally an IPA drinker but this is one I could actually enjoy a bit. It’s normally the overwhelming hop bitterness that turns me off, but this IPA had all of the wonderful hop and citrus flavors without knocking me over from the bitterness. Not bad.

Gorgeous orangey-brown color, small lacy head. Deep, sweet malt aroma is cut by mild yet distinct hop aroma. Flavor is similar; strong malt flavors - sweet and caramel, but with a distinctive flavor of coffee and brandy - with good hop bitterness and very complex character. Finish of raspberries. Excellent.

Bottle 355ml from crackedkettle.com. Celebrating my 1000th rating. A flawless, deeply pleasant Imperial IPA. All the great components of the style showing up in both nose and taste; both having also interesting hints of quinces and coffee (the latter being unusual for the style) but really integrating well. Strong bitterness. Incredibly enjoyable. Quite a lot of coffee showing up in the finish. Wonderful!

Bottle. This poured a nice copper color with golden yellow hues. Very, very thin white head (could have been my pour), with light lace. The aroma is beautiful. Strong notes of caramel, nuts, sweet malt and fruit. The taste is about the same but a great hop bitterness is present. The mouthfeel is a bit resiny with good body, a little chewy. Very nice finish, the hop bitterness follows through to the end and all the way down. There is slight alcohol character in the finish, that let’s you know it is a 9%er. Overall a great Imperial IPA, that orders to be drank again and again.
