Esquire Magazine calls our 90 Minute I.I.PA., "perhaps the best I.P.A. in America." An Imperial I.P.A. brewed to be savored from a snifter. A big beer with a great malt backbone that stands up to the extreme hopping rate. This beer is an excellent candidate for use with Randall The Enamel Animal! 90 ibu

Absolutely great. Nice balance. Not too hoppy. Somewhat hot in alcohol. A little sweet

Pours a hazy amber with a nice fluff had. Notes of malt on the nose and just a hint of grassy hops. Taste is a tad sweet at first with a big bitter finish and a huge alcohol sting as well. Pretty good imperial IPA.

shared @ 2nd D/F/CH TriStateRating; aromas of mango, vanilla, orange marmelade, tastewise a great balance of orange-marmelade and mango sweetness and subtle but strong bitterness. Finishes with notes of créme brulée and caramel.

Pours a hazy copper colour with a compact white head. Taste is incredibly well balanced between the malt, hops and alcohol with a clean bitter finish.

A distinctly fruity IPA with a sweeter taste compared to most. There is no distinct hop bitterness compared to others of this genre and it is surprisingly smooth. The main thing that surprised me is the fruity and sweet taste at the forefront that is reminiscent of grapefruit and/or citrus, I didnt think I would like it at first but it grew on me and remained drinkable without leaving a bitter acrid aftertaste. Overall a good job was done with this brew and it remains a well crafted and smoothly drinkable IPA.

Bottle at Old Cs. Copper with lasting white head. Sticky lacing. Strong herbal, spicy notes with a hint of citrus. Caramel, quite warming with a great resinous follow through.

You’re kidding. I haven’t rated this? Had it again during trivia (another suspect week where the trivia guy’s wife’s team comes from behind by acing the last category). Amber pour. Nose has butterscotch, raisins, spruce. Flavor is sticky sweet caramel, raisin, orange peel, spruce. Thicker body than I remember. Loads of crystal in this bad boy with a moderate hoppy punch in the finish.

Very good IPA but for me it is definitely not as good as the hype and I think falls short of the style a bit. Did enjoy but would not seek out again.

From a 355ml bottle on 19/7/2014. Pours a slightly murky dark golden with small fine head. The aroma is actually quite malty with lots of toffee, butterscotch and caramel presenting, along with a touch of fruity resiny hops. It drinks similar, with the malt being most prominent (caramel and toffee again). There’s a big fruity sweetness there as well (peach, mandarin), along with a dash of honey. The bitterness is surprising subdued for a double, but lingers along with a touch of booze. The texture is a little syrupy and the carbonation is average. While I certainly wouldn’t complain if someone served another one of these up to me, it doesn’t quite live up to its rep for mine. It’s a very enjoyable sipper but simply fails to stand out for me. There are many other DIPAs out there that I’d take over this.
