aguyintx66 (78), Humble, Texas, USA Feb 7, 2009 Bottle. Poured a medium amber orange color with a small tan head. Hoppy aroma with a hint of wood. Has a sweet hoppy taste with a pine bite. Finishes bittersweet. An excellent IPA. joeyplush (328), Garnet Valley, Pennsylvania, USA Feb 6, 2009 Medium amber with a bubbly tan head and medium lacing. Excellent aroma of coffee and caramel malt, pine hops, and hints of alcohol. Taste of pine hops balanced with sweet malt and a medium bite to the finish. A nice, complex and balanced IPA. Wish the alcohol content wasn’t so high but this is a great beer overall. GranvilleTim (465), Granville, Illinois, USA Feb 3, 2009 Nice hoppy aroma. Pours a nice amber hue with a white head. Nice balance of flavor with malts, hops, and alcohol. Nice lingering aftertaste. Beer leaves a nice lace on the glass. bw1982 (69), , Arizona, USA Feb 2, 2009 Pours a deep amber orange, with good sized white head. Great piney hoppy aroma without being too strong. The flavors are citrus with of course the hoppy pine notes, balanced by some nice sweet malt flavors. Great bitter to sweet finish, lasting on a nice balanced note. Very smooth and easily drinkable for a 9% ABV. whatalesya (20), , North Carolina, USA Feb 1, 2009 Picked this up at Wine and Wares in Jacksonville NC. Poured an orange/amber color with a 1 finger head. Floral scents in the nose. Medium body. Zesty carbonation. Taste is some up front bitterness from the hops, citrus notes, a touch piney, with a bready/cake-like sweet
malt to smooth things out. Hops stay prominent, with a bitter/sweet finish that leans slightly more to the bitter, but remains pleasant. Also a bit of warming in the finish, which is the only time I noticed the 9% ABV. Miksu (2187), Jyväskylä, Finland Feb 1, 2009 0.35 l bottle at Konttori, Tampere. Amber color. Sweetish aroma with perfumed piney and lemony hops. Bittersweet flavor with toffeish maltiness lemony, grapefruity and piney hops. This bottle had probaply lost some of its freshness. jkwalking05 (1483), Arlington, Texas, USA Jan 31, 2009 Amber color with a nice head. Smell is intense and hoppy but not too much. Taste is smooth, crisp, and highly hopped but goes down easy.
milljam (562), Norman, Oklahoma, USA Jan 30, 2009 Pours a clear deep-orange with a hint of red. Head is off white to tan. Aroma is strong hops, floral. The taste is amazing, just the right amount of bitterness from hops but the nicest thing is the very strong malty presence. It has a very heavy sweetness to it that nicely compliments the hops. Very full bodied, with a sticky-creamy palate. Very strong and warming, but wonderfully balanced.
