nickd717 (1276), Palo Alto, California, USA Jan 29, 2009 Pours a golden brown color with medium head. Great piney aroma, even more so than the 60 Minute. Citrusy, piney, fresh-tasting East coast hops balanced by sweet malt. Medium-full bodied with a really smooth palate. Extremely drinkable given the alcohol content and bitterness. tlind2 (560), Helsinki, Finland Jan 29, 2009 12 oz bottle @ Pikkulintu, Helsinki. Amber color, low off-white head. Hoppy aroma with some alcohol. Full, bitter flavor with plenty of piny hops and a syrupy caramel malt finish. Medium-full body, medium carbonation. Worth tasting, if not my personal favorite. NdubyaB (11), Cartersville, Georgia, USA Jan 28, 2009 A strong finishing beer. I drank this after a day of nachos and lighter sweeter beers. I am no hop head. This beer will seduce anyones taste buds with its massive flavor. You cant chug this beer. If you want something to get you ready to stumble out of the bar and leave a good taste in your mouth on the ride home then buy this beer. Got it at Highlands Grill, if you live in GA any where north of ATL then get here. Its the best. HopMasterG (3), , Washington, USA does not count Jan 27, 2009 This is a fantasic beer - hoppy but not overly dry or bitter. Color is great and it taste even better. Bitterness is nively balanced with malt so it is easy to drink - too easy?. Be careful with this one,., mnovacanes (48), Munster, Indiana, USA Jan 27, 2009 Updated: Mar 9, 2009Appearance: Crystal-clear medium reddish copper; questionable off-white head stand
Aroma: Seemingly a beautiful marriage of malt and hops; chocolate mocha with toast from malt; subtle citrus hops
Flavor: Probably the best part of this beer; complex; good hop presence, but is matched pound for pound with malt; bitterness surfaces on finish just like it should in a medium-dry finish
(tasted & rated three times)
recent tastings have revealed that an argument can be made that the malt backbone is too strong and too sweet for an imperial ipa mrbirmingham (37), Kansas, USA Jan 26, 2009 Served in a 12 oz bottle, 9% ABV
Aroma:
Earthy aroma, clean sensation with mild fruitiness
Appearance:
Deep copper color, some haze, off white head, with medium lacing and mild carbonation
Flavor:
Complex hop profile, well balanced between the hoppiness and malt back bone, low fruitiness
Mouth feel:
Crisp feel on the tongue, medium-full body, medium dry finish, mile residual mouth feel (body) in the after taste
Overall Impression: Classic balance between the high hoppiness and malt back bone. It is a very drinkable a beer and a joy to drink.
ceffalo (38), , Texas, USA Jan 23, 2009 Pours a nice golden pinkish color with a rapidly dissipating head. Strong floral, hoppy accented aroma. Not too strong.
Rich hoppy flavor with just the right amount of maltiness. Pleasant Imperial. Lingering hops. Deliciously bitter without being too stout. An amazingly high quality IPA. Recommended Jukkabro (2981), Tampere, Finland Jan 23, 2009 Coppery colored with little yellow head. Rich bitterly hopped aroma with toffee, peaches and mildly alcoholic tone. Thin to medium bodied. Flavor is soft with caramelly hops, toffee and mild flowers, still mild disappointment. Aftertaste is soapy with hops too.
