jaghana (90), Strasbourg, France Oct 18, 2009 Bottle 33. Impressive hops flavour, close to citrus. Malt is quite missing. Intresting beer but to hoppy for me. mcberko (122), British Columbia, Canada Oct 14, 2009 Bottle at the Alibi Room - pours an attractive amber into chalice. Extremely hoppy, spices and malt make this one of the best IPAs out there. Remarkable beer. sm89walt (431), Norwich, Norfolk, England Oct 14, 2009 400th rating. 33cl bottle. Clear, bubbly amber with a fine, mostly dissipating white head and a scattered oily lacing. Grapefruit, mango and orange peel aromas with floral and honey notes. A big hit of demerara sugar sweetness followed by rhubarb and honey. Grapefruit, lemon sherbet and spicey hops balance with a grassy, piney finish leaving a floral, grassy and toasty aftertaste. Medium carbonation, crisp, lasting and balance mouthfeel with a touch of alcohol in the throat. So, so drinkable. Bottled on 05/06/09. Tessic (437), Brantford, Ontario, Canada Oct 12, 2009 This ipa is gold in colour with a nice bright white head. To the nose there are scents of hopps, grass, juniper and more hopps. First taste is smooth and creamy with lots of hopp flavour but no over the top as I was expecting. Flavours of orange and lemon citrus and raisens make this a nicely flavoured ale. Finish is lemony with the hopp bitterness being just right. Bragesnak (2223), Aarhus, Denmark Oct 12, 2009 Bottled, 111009.
Orange with white head. Aroma of orange, malt and spices. Flavor is malt, fruit and hop bitterness. Well balanced. Wegro (218), Fresno, California, USA Oct 11, 2009 Updated: Oct 12, 2009aroma left me wanting a little more, didn’t have that crazy hopped out nose like you get from stone. looks crazy bubbly in the glass, nice clear copper. flavor is very well balanced, super clean. clean crystal malts, lots of them but in a good way. very fruity. the hops are there but balanced. the finish isn’t very biting, surprising it’s 90 IBUs. this was bottled on 7/17/09 so it’s still pretty fresh. very drinkable for 9%, wouldnt have guessed it at all. the alc flavor isn’t apparent. More malty than I like my IPAs, it almost reaches barley wine levels. Very good but in a different style than I was expecting. alc isn’t too noticeable in the flavor but it is on the brain. NayTron (30), Kalamazoo, Michigan, USA Oct 10, 2009 I like this. The hops and malt balance works, very well blended. Not as bright on the hops as others but makes up with some brown sugars which gives a very good feel on the tongue. Lacing is nice on the glass. Good stuff. RR (26), Kentucky, USA Oct 10, 2009 Bottle. Dark Brown Pour. Very Malty. High ABV, doesn’t really drink like an IPA. Very Smooth. Hint of citrus, nice clean finish.
