WhoKnewBrew (3), Burlington, Vermont, USA does not count Sep 26, 2008 Enjoyed this last night out of a 12 oz snifter. Had a wonderful citrus smell of oranges or lemons. It was a warm amber color and poured nicely. The 9% ABV is masked wonderfully in an array of citrus and fruit but not sweet. Wonderful tasting hops, and a hint of caramel or brown sugar. If IPA’s are your thing this one is decadent. Enjoy on tap at Flat Bread in Burlington. BeerBunker (594), Burbank, Illinois, USA Sep 25, 2008 Pours a dark orange with a white head. Aroma is of strong bitter hops, citrus fruit, alcohol, and caramel. Taste is heavy bitterness, balanced out by a strong alcohol bite and malts. Lingering taste of bitter alcohol. Finish is very biter. machfive55 (218), Columbia, Pennsylvania, USA Sep 25, 2008 An outstanding IPA. Purchased on draft at the Rehoboth brewpub. Poured a nice orange color, with a good head and a strong carbonation. It had just an awesome hop aroma with some nice fruity piney notes and the hop flavor was just exploding in this beer but was in good balance with the malt. It drinks so smooth you would not be able to tell this is a 9% beer until you’ve had too many. Just an awesome, awesome IPA by DFH. Dmalone102 (216), Denver, Colorado, USA Sep 25, 2008 Had this at the brewery and the brewpub, delicious. Very balanced while being very hoppy, if that makes any sense. I can’t say much more that hasn’t been said, great beer. dalekliz (546), San Diego, California, USA Sep 24, 2008 Bottle. Pours a clear amber-brown with a thick fluffy white head. Aroma is hoppy, with a lot of pine, some fruit and malt. Taste is big and bitter, of hops and malt, with pine, citrus, caramel, and molasses notes. Lingering sweet malt and bitter hops flavors. Very tasty. saxo (3511), Højbjerg, Aarhus, Denmark Sep 22, 2008 Sample at EBF Copenhagen. Nice head with good duration. Color is amber. Aroma and taste are rich with hops and flowers. Nik925 (300), California, USA Sep 20, 2008 Great malt flavor. Just a bit too much bitterness for balance. Could be dryer, even at 9% there is too much residual sugar left. Citrus and surprisingly a grape sent present. The hop flavor pops and then fades away. All the components are great but together they do not fit perfectly. Peachy aroma. Sticky zingy palate. Numbing. 1-dimensional hoppiness, and neither interesting nor exciting to me. Not a well balanced beer at all.
