FrankJohansen (3327), Sabro, Denmark Sep 19, 2008 Bottle. Clear amber colour with a small white head. Powerful hoppy aroma and taste with rich notes of caramel and citrus. pacaus (49), Dublin, Pennsylvania, USA Sep 17, 2008 Great IPA! Definitely one of the best I have had although for the price I do prefer the taste and cost of the 60 minute. I love the essence of the grapefruit hops. Definitely a great beer! Slightly thick with lots of warm caramel flavor. so good. noncaloric (601), Madison, Wisconsin, USA Sep 13, 2008 Updated: Mar 9, 2009Summary: Deliciously sweet, syrupy malt bomb, and then the hops come out to play just when you thought it was safe to swallow. Aroma: Intense hops, mostly pine, some grapefruit. Appearance: Clear caramel-colored medium amber, puts forth a thick, dense, off-white head that leaves abundant lace. Flavor: Big malt presence, honey, caramel, vanilla, somewhat boozy. The hops are there, but don’t become the dominant element until the finish, pine, a little citrus. Bitterness lingers on the cheeks and lips. Palate: Thick, syrupy while drinking, hops leave a cooling tingle in the mouth that trumps any alcohol warming.
