halfonit (415), Fall River, Massachusetts, USA Sep 13, 2008 WOW!!! Now this is by far the smoothest IPA I’ve ever had. It’s a little pricey but wow is it worth it!! If you like true IPA’s then try this! Even if it’s expensive; just remember you get what you pay for. This is worth every penny. SUPERB!! Dastrn (115), Warsaw, Indiana, USA Sep 9, 2008 Pours caramel colored. Aroma of pine, floral, and raisin, with a little citrus. Taste is very hoppy, very bitter, very delicious! One of the best IPAs ever. MatSciGuy (627), Rosemount, Minnesota, USA Sep 8, 2008 [Bottle] Pours a caramelly golden with a moderate off white head that sticks around. Aroma is pine resin, grapefruit, and a nice caramel-toffee malty backbone. Flavor is moderately sweet, plenty of citrus fruits, a touch of pine, and a little raisin. The mouthfeel is moderately slick with a great malt presence to increase the body. Bitterness isn’t overpowering but builds on the finish. Hophead22 (1056), Redlands, by way of Wisconsin,, California, USA Sep 7, 2008 12oz bootle from a trade with NYbeer, thank you Steven. Very nice pour, orangy color to it. Big pine floral aroma if that makes any sense, very hoppy. Sweet hop flavor, but not over the top, well balanced. Very good imp. IPA Nnudd (52), Helsinge, Denmark Sep 7, 2008 Bottle. Hazy Orange color with a smaller tan head. Aroma is floral/hoppy and some citrus and fruity aroma. Hoppy taste, but not as powefull as expected. Very drinkable, nice crisp, hoppy finish. SamAdams777 (37), Abilene or Stephenville, Texas, USA Sep 7, 2008 Im a fan of IPAs, so I was really hyped for this one. I like the body, and palate, when warmer the high abv is fairly powerful. Citrus, flowers, bitter as you would think. I enjoy it. NextBestThing (22), Westtown, New York, USA Sep 6, 2008 Be careful with this one. I have had two different bottles from the same four pack which were completely different beers. If you get one that’s the way it’s supposed to be, it’s a hoppy IPA that’s simultaneously completely drinkable, more subtle than a Ruination even. If you get a bad one, it’s a Dunkin’ Donuts regular with cream & no sugar. Difficult beer to rate due to the inconsistency. My personal opinion is that it’s Dogfish Head’s best when it’s on. Citrus hops with a strong malt backbone almost every time. I recommend, but recommend with the caveat that you’re purchasing an inconsistent product. MaltDawg (778), Richmond, Virginia, USA Sep 6, 2008 Capital Ale House Downtown 08/24/2008. Nice flora orange/citrus hop nose. Clear orange/amber with small fine white head. Rich malt background supports robust floral citrus American hop flavors. Medium body with full mouthfeel but residual bitterness leads to a dry finish. Fantastic beer.
