kosko20 (302), Bemidji, Minnesota, USA Aug 13, 2008 So this is extremely good. Aroma is very complex, hops, peach, floral, pine and hints of various other fruits. Appearance is beautiful, golden red copper with a thin, slightly off white head (if head was thicker, would be 5). Flavor is also amazing and complex. Hops, citrus, peach, floral. Extremely well balanced for an Imperial IPA, the hops are there but blended well with other flavors. The palate is extremely smooth, great carbonation and some bitterness in the finish, but not quite enough. Closest beer to Hopslam so far. gameface23 (131), Haverhill, Massachusetts, USA Aug 12, 2008 Updated: Aug 15, 2008Apricot, grapefruit, pine and awesomeness. This beer is the definition of balance. Nice golden orange color with not much head. Not too sweet, not too bitter. 41cubs (131), , New Jersey, USA Aug 10, 2008 Updated: Dec 22, 2008Completely over the top guilty pleasure, rich, saturated, beautifully balanced goodness. Awesome hoppy bite and aroma. Piney sugary creamsicle in a glass. These guys do a double IPA spot on. Super tasty great beer experience. This is the beer that made me realize that I like DIPA even though I’m not the biggest fan of IPA. Go get em’ theyr’e well worth the price. plovmand (1588), Helsinge, Denmark Aug 9, 2008 Bottle. Golden amber colour with a long lasting white head. Aroma is quite spicy and not as hoppy as I would have expected for a DIPA. Add flowery malts to that. Flavour is nicely spiced and the malts and hops joins very balanced to this. A very nice experience and a different DIPA. DrDavid (957), Johnson, Vermont, USA Aug 9, 2008 (Bottle). Wonderful IPA. Obviously, it packs more of a wallop than the 60 Minute, but is equally well balanced and complex. Citrus, pine, bitterness. A complete package. Ethereal (1500), London, Greater London, England Aug 9, 2008 Cask at GBBF 08. There’s not much to add on a beer with over 2000 ratings and which sits high in the rankings. Golden amber in colour, it sports a restrained hoppiness on the nose and superb balance for a 9% beer. Shows without a doubt that American brewers can do subtlety if they try! jmm635 (249), Havertown, Pennsylvania, USA Aug 8, 2008 Updated: Jan 1, 2009Bottled. Pours a clear copper color with a large, slightly off-white head that lasts and leaves a nice lacing. Seemed dark and full bodied for an IPA. Still has a great flavor - somewhat sweet but a strong hop flavor. Slightly alcoholic finish. JCastner (102), New York, USA Aug 8, 2008 Updated: Dec 9, 2008A quality blend of sweet malts and the full strength of this American hop combination make this one of my favorites. Calagione has a way of pushing the envelope without going overboard. It’s hard not to like this one. It’s all about balance here, though the 60 minute is a bit easer to drink.
