Fyrdraca (15), Greenville, South Carolina, USA Jul 9, 2008 One of the best I’ve had. Considering the alcohol content, it’s very mild. Very smooth, though I was disappointed by the complete absence of a head. It’s color is beautiful, and it is very rich, especially taking into account how easy it goes down. The flavor is complex. I would definitely reccomend it. rkania75 (4), , New York, USA does not count Jul 8, 2008 very smooth and appealing to the senses. not harsh at all, no alcohol flavor. will purchase again. BeerBaron617 (306), Novi, Michigan, USA Jul 7, 2008 Despite the hype, I actually was not very impressed with this. I’m still not sure if I got a bad batch. Slightly citrusy nose that follows the flavor. There was a substantial alcohol taste, which should be easily fixed with proper brewing. Despite it’s flaw, it’s definitely not the worst IPA I’ve had, just not the best. HonkeyBra (1258), Lemont, Illinois, USA Jul 6, 2008 This was the first real craft beer I ever had. It’s still one of the most impressive beers i’ve ever had. Easily one of, if not the best, double ipas around. papajohn (1054), San Diego (Mira Mesa), California, USA Jul 6, 2008 12 oz bottle from Holiday Wine Cellar: Golden-amber color with a medium, fading white head. Aroma is caramel, citrus and pine with a wiff of alcohol. Flavor is rich caramel, over ripe fruit (pineapple, apricot, mango) followed by some citrus and a lingering, dry orange rind finish. Medium-full body is creamy with moderate carbonation. spikester (602), Salem, Oregon, USA Jul 6, 2008 Deep copper, nice head with lots of lacings. Very syrup like consistency. Decent aroma. Taste is wine-like super malts with a less apparent amount of hops. Alcohol is fairly well hidden in the taste, but not in effect. Only had a 12 ounce bottle but probably should have split it with a friend. badbeer (432), Iowa, USA Jul 5, 2008 Apricot color with a quickly dissipating white head, leaving a decent lacing. Grassy, and some floral hops, seems like to much maltiness for a DIPA. Starts out with a lemon zest, followed by a caramel taste, quite malty for the style, with a grassy finish. Medium carbonation, syrupy and full bodied. Able to finish the bottle, but glad I only got the one. Probably won’t try this one again. chrisafari (100), Orange, California, USA Jul 4, 2008 Updated: Sep 6, 2008On Tap at Stone Brewing World Bistro and Gardens. Pours amber/orange with small white head. Aroma of sweet hops and citrus. Cloudy. Flavor begins spicy and hoppy then finishes with flavors of nice citrus and roasted nuts. Very impressive Imperial IPA! Damn this is good!
