Bottled at EBF 2008. Clear amber, medium white head. Malty and earthy aroma with piney and citric hops, and with notes of tropical fruits. Medium bodied, soft carbonation. Well balanced with a long bitterness.

Copper color with a weak ending head. Strong malt aroma, equally balanced hop finish. Interesting overall.

Bottle. Bottled 11/28/07. Pours amber colored with off-white head. As far as aroma, it seems like I have my nose stuck into a glass of fresh hop flowers. Tastes a little more viscous that expected, very hoppy, but not harsh. Balanced nicely with malt. Very nice.

RERATE: Dark orange color, small layer of a hed. Wonderful nose - woody, rosemary. Lively carbonation. Roasemary and sage in the taste. Some cardboard in the finish. Wonderful long lasting bitter grass aftertaste. Raisons and strong alcohol nose. Orange body. Very bitter / makes you pucker. Nice, enjoyed it a lot. 8/4/8/4/16 -4.0

True amber color, catches the light and seems to glow. Nice foamy off-white head builds easily and has good renention. Actually never got below a centimeter in thickness.. Surprising lack of hop aroma for such a high IBU. Seems to be lacking in hop flavor as well. Have I really gotten this used to hop bitterness or has this bottle been aged long enough that the hops aren’t as much a part of the mix anymore? I’ll find out tomorrow when I revisit the Arrogant Bastard. Has a flavor (from the yeast perhaps?) that I picked up in World Wide Stout and Raison D’etre. It’s similar (vaguely) to some of the flavors I associate with Belgian yeast. As it warmed, I picked up more hops, mostly pine-like but some citric qualities, but never as much as I would expect from a beer that advertised its IBU.

A great beer. Sam really hit the hops on this 90 minute IPA. had a strong finish and a great overall color. I loved the hoppy undertones throughout the beer. Drank this at PIB (Portland International Brewfest)

Cloudy amber, beige head.Nose is floral, citrus & slightly malty.Big citrus hop flavor with lots of body and lasting med strength finish. I don't agree with most of you; the finish isn't all that strong for an Imperial. Most are stronger and longer. Also I find the balance quite good, plenty of malt here.
