A hophead's delight!

Pours with a short-lived white head, copper body. The hop presence was great, but what really set this one apart from other IPAs was the great malt background.

Bottle. Golden amber colour with a long lasting white head. Aroma is quite spicy and not as hoppy as I would have expected for a DIPA. Add flowery malts to that. Flavour is nicely spiced and the malts and hops joins very balanced to this. A very nice experience and a different DIPA.

Bottle: Orange amber pour with lots of head. Nose is mostly citrus hops with hints of grass and some malts. The taste is just a marvelous blend of hops to malt, balanced, and smooth. Not a pure hops assault like I had expected, but a nice blend with the malt that created a rich and succulent taste. Goes down almost syruplike and very smooth. Thanks DocLock.

Kind of a glowing copper color going on with little bit of head. Has a nice floral aroma, fresh floral aroma. I get pine and grapefruit, pink grapefruit mostly in this one. Ya, alot more citrus bitterness than pine, but its pretty damn good.

Perfumy, floral, dry and hoppy aroma. Dark gold in color with an off-white, large bubble head that mostly diminishes. Cloudy with good lace. Alcohol is pervasive, as are the hops. Piney with some pepper. Very good but a little too peppery and not sweet enough. Nevertheless, excellent! Very well made, fine. long finish. Thanks Kinz for sending another one on my Beerlist!

strong smell of hops- i can already tell this is going to be a great IPA. pours out of the bottle tan to brownish color. head disappears almost instantly. very strong flavor of hops. hops hops more hops. this is fucking GREAT. this is a wonderful IPA. i could drink this all damn day if i didnt have to drive to VA to buy it. the aftertaste lingers and is somewhat dry. An EXCELLENT ipa.

Like a soft rounded Bigfoot. Cascade goodness departs from an IPA when I can get hints of honey and fruit from the malt. Delicious. Really really soft and intricate. I was lickign hops off my gums 10 minutes after I was finished. The otherwise clean signature of Dogfish Head is certain.

Cask at GBBF 08. There’s not much to add on a beer with over 2000 ratings and which sits high in the rankings. Golden amber in colour, it sports a restrained hoppiness on the nose and superb balance for a 9% beer. Shows without a doubt that American brewers can do subtlety if they try!
