Esquire Magazine calls our 90 Minute I.I.PA., "perhaps the best I.P.A. in America." An Imperial I.P.A. brewed to be savored from a snifter. A big beer with a great malt backbone that stands up to the extreme hopping rate. This beer is an excellent candidate for use with Randall The Enamel Animal! 90 ibu

Bottle. Poured a golden amber with medium white head. Complex aroma of hops and malt with sweet tone. Full body and flavor with long bitter finish. Very good double IPA.

UPDATED: OCT 2, 2007 (Bottle) Hands down the best IPA that I have tried. Pours a dark amber color with a small head. Great flavor that makes your taste buds crave for more.

Bernsteinfarbenes Bier mit mittelmäßiger Schaumkrone. Geruch sehr hopfig, fruchtig, malzig. Geschmack sehr malzig fruchtig, stark exotisch fruchtig, wunderbare Aromen.

Quite light amber with a big solid head. Surprisingly malty aroma, with caramel, grain and some dried fruit - the hop notes are grassy and citrus. Dry and bitter but with a giant malty mouthfeel. The bitterness has a tobacco-like astringent touch which isn’t bad at all. Some alcohol. After being underwhelmed by the bitterness I checked the date to see if the journey across the Atlantic could have killed it. But it was bottled in April, and I was disappointed in May and in June. I’m just not a fan of really malty and sweet IIPAs. But store it three years and I’ll probably love it as a barleywine.

Bottled, 355ml from Bellingers Garage, Grove, Oxon. Hazed amber with short lived head. Not as overblown with hops as I was lead to expect, which was a good thing, slighlty sweet and fruity initially, grapefruit and bitter lemon over quite a plummy note, loads of alcohol showing through, nasal, breathy. Crisps up later on for a drying note. Obviously very good but not quite there with the greatest for me.

Bottle (EBF2008) (7:3:5:2:9=2.6)
Peachy aroma. Sticky zingy palate. Numbing. 1-dimensional hoppiness, and neither interesting nor exciting to me. Not a well balanced beer at all.
Rerate: 355ml bottle (Cambridge Winter Ale Festival 2011) (7:3:7:4:14=3.5)
Totally different beast from the mess we had before. Very sweet, but a pleasant balance of biscuity malts and very fruity hops. Very drinkable for its strength. definitely doesn’t shout about its 9%, even if a bit gimicky. One of the better US hop-bombs, but a sloppy sugary mess compared to masterpieces like Alpo’s and Jaipur.

Finally rated this. I have no idea what took so long. Pours a clear amber with nice white head. Nose is very floral with lots of hops and citrus. Taste is citrus, bushel of hops, dark malts and almost a bourbon taste in background.

Bottle poured a clear copper with a small lingering off white head. Aromas of carmel, pine and a hint of citrus. Palate was medium bodied and smooth. Flavors of carmel, pine, light orange and a hint of grapefruit with a lingering moderatly bitter finish.

bottle, bought at ølbutikken, cph. denmark. ar:hoppy, fruity, raisins. nice amber, small light brown head. flavor is sweet and hoppy, slightly fruity, aftertaste is very very good, You need to drink a good deal of the bottle before all impressions settle. also watch out for temp. A very good ipa, but not more than ’’somewhere’’ in the best 10 i’ve had. i’d like a more solid mouthfeel, a less barleywineish aroma, a stronger aroma, and better looks.
