Commercial Description:
Esquire Magazine calls our 90 Minute I.I.PA., "perhaps the best I.P.A. in America." An Imperial I.P.A. brewed to be savored from a snifter. A big beer with a great malt backbone that stands up to the extreme hopping rate. This beer is an excellent candidate for use with Randall The Enamel Animal! 90 ibu

This is by far the best IPA i’ve ever tasted. It pours a golden color with a medium white head. The aroma is of citrus and malts. It tastes of hops and malt at first, but isn’t overly bitter like many other IPAs. It finishes with a strong citrus aftertaste, and then a bitter taste which is not overpowering at all.

Bottle at the Clark Sreet Ale House in Chicago. Pours a clear amber body with a medium white head. An awesome nose of citrus and grapfruit hops, also some sweet cake. The taste was full of tons of hops, not too bitter except in the finish, generally quite sweet actually. Some wood and sugary flavors too. Very good IPA. Enjoyable and not too hot.

12 oz bottle from Charleston’s (New Lenox, IL). Pours a beautiful hazed copper with nice head. Aromas are very pleasant, consisting heavily of citrus, hops, spice, and pine on the back. Initial is much the same, nicely balanced malt with a very strong hop presence, largely citrusy hops with pine notes (My favorite notes) and some other sweet but mellow fruits (Tropical?). Finishes clean, with a nice bitterness. I don’t personally think this brew overdoes malty sweetness. If anything, the other single IPA I had this evening did this much more noticeably. Very good DIPA.

Poured amber/orange in color, with a hoppy, fruity aroma. Small head with no lacing. Very Strong hoppy flavor. Hands Down my favorite double IPA!

Beautiful in-glass appearance, but this just doesn’t taste like an IPA--it’s almost like they’ve pushed the sweetness and hidden the hops to try to go for a mass-market appeal, except I know and respect Dogfish head well enough that I’m sure that isn’t the case. The overwhelming flavors coming through are a cloying malt and a bold (and not pleasant in this instance) alcohol taste, with a medicinal, almost prune-like aftertaste. It has non of the hoppy bitterness expected from an IPA. Like everything from Dogfish, though, it’s certainly not a boring beer. Worth trying once in case your tastes align better, just ignore the phrase IPA on the bottle and go in expecting a very sweet Strong Ale.

This was my go to IPA for years Bottle poured into a pint glass produces a finger worth of white head on top of a clear copper colored body the head leaves a good amount of lacing Aromas of citrus hoppy goodness fill your nose. A good amount of malt flavor for a DIPA but the hops bitter is still there for your hop fix. Medium mouthfeel good carbonation for your tongue Highly drinkable but I would keep myself to two a sitting because of the alcohol will sneak up on you. Like I said my go to DIPA for a long time
