smashteroid (144), USA May 1, 2008 Not normally a fan of IPAs, but this one was very drinkable. served cold from a 12 oz. bottle. good aroma, sweet hops. didn’t see the color because it was consumed straight from the bottle. it was creamy and refreshing, somewhat pine-flavored but with a solid hop/malt combination. Just a really good and refreshing beer. Not much else I can say than that.
badbeer (357), Iowa, USA Jul 5, 2008 Apricot color with a quickly dissipating white head, leaving a decent lacing. Grassy, and some floral hops, seems like to much maltiness for a DIPA. Starts out with a lemon zest, followed by a caramel taste, quite malty for the style, with a grassy finish. Medium carbonation, syrupy and full bodied. Able to finish the bottle, but glad I only got the one. Probably won’t try this one again. chrisafari (45), Orange, California, USA Jul 4, 2008 On Tap at Stone Brewing World Bistro and Gardens. Pours amber/orange with small white head. Aroma of sweet hops and citrus. Cloudy. Flavor begins spicy and hoppy then finishes with flavors of nice citrus and roasted nuts. Very impressive Imperial IPA! Damn this is good! urraca (28), New Jersey, USA Jun 29, 2008 Hazy Orange color with a smaller tan head. Instant notes of a floral-hoppy bouquet. Citrus fruity aroma and a sweet grape, hoppy taste. Very drinkable, and the hops actually don’t overpower the other flavors. But a nice crisp, hoppy finish. belgiumtripel (3), , Indiana, USA does not count Jun 28, 2008 this beer was extremely smooth for a double IPA i really enjoyed it a lot of good flavors going on you can taste the subtle flavors and the intense but not biteing hops. a great beer canoncritic (1), Seattle, Washington, USA does not count Jun 28, 2008 This is simply a great beer. Even by Pacific NW standards. Pretty fruity, which I happen to like. But I would stop at two bottles. Taste becomes a tad too alcohol after two--IMHO.
