machfive55 (111), Columbia, Pennsylvania, USA Sep 25, 2008 An outstanding IPA. Purchased on draft at the Rehoboth brewpub. Poured a nice orange color, with a good head and a strong carbonation. It had just an awesome hop aroma with some nice fruity piney notes and the hop flavor was just exploding in this beer but was in good balance with the malt. It drinks so smooth you would not be able to tell this is a 9% beer until you’ve had too many. Just an awesome, awesome IPA by DFH.
BlockBrew (126), West Lafayette, Indiana, USA Jan 9, 2009 A really great beer. Amber pour with a white head. Strong aroma of hops and an equally strong flavor of hops. The hop flavor really comes through and the bitterness is well balanced. Extremely drinkable. Rustyham (28), miami, Florida, USA Jan 4, 2009 My Lord, what a beatiful beer. You must drink from a glass, it’s a glorious mixture of amber and red. Aside from that, a molestation of flavor, tingles, and jingles. Quite a party in your mouth. Hops galore, it taste like some type of gem. But, it’s a strong flavor, I would not more than one per night. satan165 (207), River Grove, Illinois, USA Jan 3, 2009 one of the most lovely colors ive ever witnessed. starts ultra light, almost lager like and evolves during the pour, as more and more is exposed to light. becomes copper, nearly ruby and eventually tarnished orange. nose is immediately of wonderful malt, crunchy toffee wafer. little of the expected floral hops are present in aroma. flavor is so soft and smooth, coating mouthfeel, taste is lightly of nearly roast coffee, almost wood. willamette hops really come across in a wonderful way that no one else is doing in their IIPAs. this is one of a kind, and amazingly drinkable. rayOfBeer (296), El Cerrito, California, USA Jan 1, 2009 Poured from bottle an orange-blonde with medium sized ecru head. Aroma bursts with a floral citrusy hoppiness but not over-powering like some IPAs. The flavor checks in with nice floral lemony-orange hops, caramel, a touch of malt sweetness and some sweet bread. Palate is surprisingly smooth with just enough sweetness to bitter and a nice malty mouthfeel that makes one believe this couldn’t possibly be that high in ABV. Wow, a truely great beer. OCBPnorth (1), Miami Beach, Florida, USA does not count Dec 31, 2008 Since I believe that this is simply the best IPA in existence, I give it a perfect rating. So hoppy I want to chew every sip. Caramel flavors with a perfectly bitter oak after-taste; exceptionally smooth. Bronze color with a perfectly carbonated head of sand-coated foam. Perfect beach-taste for a beer born in a little Delaware beach town. A little stronger than the Dogfish Head 60 min. IPA, and just a little better. Their 120 min. is ridiculously good, but too strong to enjoy and remember.
