A big beer with a great malt backbone that stands up to the extreme hopping rate. This beer is an excellent candidate for use with Randall The Enamel Animal! 90 ibu

12-oz bottle. Big aroma with citrus and candied dates. A beautiful medium clear amber color with a pillowy white head that completely fails to smother the wonderful aroma. The taste is perfect for an ipa. Balanced sweet malts with pronounced American hops. The texture of the beer is medium-heavy with enough substance to encourage meditation. Great finish with no unpleasant side notes. Ridiculously drinkable. A real pleasure.

@Pegulier pub (NYC) golden, misty with a full off-white head. nose: a lot of hops chocolate, spices. taste: caramel, chocolate. bitter sweet, bit dry. soft body, small in carbonation. good full MF. probably one of the strangest "IPAs" I ever had. Imperial indeed. crossover.

Bottle from ABC. Pours a perfect, shimmering golden amber with a frothy white head and ample lacing. Smells of floral, citrus, herbs, with an earthy backbone and some lingering malt. Flavor is bitter and somewhat sweet throughout. Full bodied, creamy, and smooth on the finish; taste lingers, and it is wonderful. A long time, all-time favorite. Acquire.

Sampled from a bottle at O'Hare Terminal 5. Darkish golden colour with a white head. Malty aromas. Intense flavours based around a really solid malt taste, with tangerine, banana, dried fruit and spices all there. Extreme bitterness. I found too much intensity in this complex beer. Not easy to drink, but I can appreciate the craft that went into it.

Aroma of intense citrus and pine waft out from the orange sudsy pour. The taste is quite a good balance of hops and malt. Very good

Absolutely stunning beer. Crisp and fresh, with a flavor that lasts. The color is perfect, and its scent is mouth watering. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

Bottle. Copper. Grapefruit, honey, sugar aroma. Big malty taste that changes to bitter grapefruit with a surprising clean finish. This is a big one with decently hidden alcohol. One of the best from dfh. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

"Perhaps the best I.P.A. in America" sayith Esquire, and since I drink this more often than any other beer I will have to concur with the great beer brain-trust of Esquire magazine. My favorite IPA with the bonus of being widely available!

Appearance: (poured into a tulip glass) pours a 2 finger pillowy head, nice lacing, slowly subsiding into a 1 finger head, body is a clear dark coppery amber with lively carbonation. Aroma: Fresh grass, malty hops, pine, resin, grapefruit, yeast, rich sweet honey, floral, citrus, bread, bready Palate: full bodied, thick, moderate carbonation, slightly chewy like yeasty bread. Taste: Malt, bread, caramel, grapefruit, black pepper ,mildly bitter finish with resins, pine, and, sweet honey Overall: Delicious, complex, malt heavy, honeyed, balanced, mildly bitter, the best beer I’ve had thus far.

Poured from a 12oz bottle into Spieglau IPA glass, thanks Shane! Light golden amber colour, everlasting white foam and lace. Extreme American hoppy aromas, but not severely grapefruity, more of a mild flowery, honey-like balance. Taste: malty, caramelly sweet, and VERY hoppy again, bitter but smoother than usual (apparently through their use of low-cohumulone hop varieties). Tangy hops-forward balance. Light-medium body, strong carbonation, lingering hoppy aftertastes.
