| 3.7 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 4/5 | 15/20 | Nov 15, 2009 Delicous apricot flavors in another great beer from Dogfish Head. I have tried from both the bottle and the tap and both are very enjoyable. This is a good IPA but with a sour tinge. Color was a deep amber, I didn’t get much of a smell. The taste and mouthfeel is where this beer set’s itself apart. It has an overpowering sour flavor with a malty finish. The mouthfeel is a tart finish. This is a solid beer, but I couldn’t have a 4-pack back to back. A very complex beer showing DogFish’s skill at coming up with something out of the ordinary. madmitch76 (520), , Essex, England

| 3.2 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 5/10 | 3/5 | 13/20 | Nov 9, 2009 Pours a brilliant amber color with a thin but dense layer of tan foam. The aroma is fruity with apricots, peaches, and caramel. The flavor is apricots and peaches with a strange hop character that doesn’t seem to complement the light fruitiness very well. It quickly denigrates to an unpleasant mineral, metallic finish. Interesting concept, but not my thing. joet (1702), Fulton, California, USA

| 3.2 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 3/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 13/20 | Oct 21, 2009 Pours a clear amber with a subtle white head that quickly dissipates. The apricot aroma is not as pronounces as I expected. Its rather subtle with a light hoppiness and some caramel. Taste is sweet and tart. Again, the apricot is not as strong as I expected. It does come through a bit more on the finish. Also has hints of apple and some sweet malts. Very crisp on the front. Medium/light mouthfeel and not much carbonation. Not bad, but nothing special. daleharshman (186), San Diego, California, USA
| 3.8 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 8/10 | 4/5 | 15/20 | Oct 14, 2009 12 ounce bottle from Pacific Liquor in North Park ($3.99). Pours a murky dark amber-orange with rather small off-white head. Mellow aroma of citrusy hops and grass/vegetables with some apricot but not as much as I might have thought. The apricots are much more noticeable in the flavor, though. The apricots combine with the hops to make an IPA that lacks a citrus/hoppy "bite" and is surprisingly smooth. Good carbonation with a nice tangy finish. This is refreshing and damn near sessionable.
good carbonation
