| 3.3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 2/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 14/20 | Apr 29, 2009 From a four pack of 12 bottles this poured a light orange color with a medium white head and light lacing. Nose is dominated by the apricot. Mouthfeel is medium. Flavor is again mostly apricot and the finish finally shows little hop bitterness. Not sure why this is called and IPA as it seems mostly a fruit beer, and a decent one at that. BrotherGrendel (580), San Diego, California, USA
| 3.2 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 3/5 | 6/10 | 2/5 | 13/20 | Apr 28, 2009 Bottle. Orange-amber hue with thin ring of foam, good clarity. Amazing aroma captures the apricot essence with other light fruits and grassy hop aroma. Flavor is a bit thin and fading, apricot and berries initially on the palate that quickly fade to balancing earthy hop flavors and underlying bready malts, finishes sweet. Light-medium bodied, thin texture, low-flat carbonation. A unique portrait of sweet fruit and bitter hops with DFH underlying characteristics malts lurking, disappointing persistence of flavor compared to other more complex fruit beers (i.e. New Glarus). coharahawk (87), Milwaukee, Wisconsin, USA
| 3.3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 3/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 14/20 | Apr 26, 2009 On tap at Ginger Man. Nose has fresh apricot that dominates with a little bit of hops behind. Flavor is tart and sweet up front with a decent malt backbone. Finishes with a tiny bit of hop bitterness. I think this falls somewhat short of being an IPA, but tasts a little more like an APA with apricots. There’s not too much depth to it. However, it would work as a pretty good summer/lawnmower/grilling beer as it is refreshing. n49921 (108), USA
| 3.2 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 4/5 | 5/10 | 3/5 | 12/20 | Apr 26, 2009 Bottle. Pours almost orange, very think. Aroma is fruity with some hop. Flavor is very fruity and actually not much hop. Body is a bit heavy. A good beer, but not my taste. nefarious (203), Clarkston, Michigan, USA
| 3.7 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 5/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 15/20 | Apr 25, 2009 this is such an unusual pour.....and not in a bad way either. Thick pour for an IPA. Descent head and great lacing. Man this thing has legs for an IPA. Deeeeeeeep orange color. Sweet aroma of sweet apricots and sugar, DUH. Wow! Jusy so different sweet sour and bitter all the same. Almost has a dirty sock flavor. The ever present ceader wood DFH finish as well. Another unique brew from DFH. mspindler (301), Alta Loma, California, USA
| 3.7 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 3/5 | 8/10 | 4/5 | 15/20 | Apr 25, 2009 Pours a crystal clear copper color with a big off white head. Aroma is extremely fruity with apricots and citrus and not much else. Flavor is obviously apricots, some sweet bready and caramel malts, some citrus and pine from the hops, which are subtle. Lacks the typical bitterness of an IPA. Palate is full but not sticky and there’s no lack of carbonation. Taverner (837), San Ramon, California, USA
| 3.2 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 4/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 13/20 | Apr 25, 2009 Pours a clear copper with a lot of head, and carbonation. Aroma is slightly funky, but mostly piney and resinous. Flavor is lightly sweet with notes of said apricots. Has a clean finish. A rather boring IPA - listed as a "fruit beer" and once again RB misses the ship. JoeTheYounger (243), California, USA
| 4.1 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 5/5 | 8/10 | 4/5 | 17/20 | Apr 25, 2009 Copper clear color with thick intense head. Hints of apricots and hops in the aroma. The apricot flavor balances the overall hop experience but is very nice. Very good carbonation and not too sweet.
