joshschneider (6), Chicago, Illinois, USA does not count Apr 22, 2009 I wouldn’t normally choose a beer brewed with fruit but this is definately the best one I’ve ever had. Hap it on tap at the Hopleaf in Chicago. Very well balanced, a true marriage of hops and apricots. This is the perfect beer to introduce to non-hopheads. yobdoog (1414), Woodridge NY, New York, USA Apr 22, 2009 Bright fruity peach apricot flavors. A nice semi dry but very refreshing beer. Nice hop usage and not overpowering the fruit. They join and become one. Great summer beer. AlfredJesusson (3), San Diego, California, USA does not count Apr 21, 2009 Bottle. Medium copper pour with a pretty thin head, leaving little lacing. Aroma is definitely and unmistakably apricot, with very little hop character. Slightly syrupy mouthfeel that is initially fruity before fading to bitter hoppiness at the end. Balanced almost too well for a strong IPA. Very refreshing on an unusually hot day. DalzAle (473), Eden Prairie, Minnesota, USA Apr 21, 2009 Bottle. Pumpkin colored pour, very little carbonation with a light and sweet apricot aroma. Flavor hit with apricot right away, then follows with some bitter hops and lemon citrus. A very solid beer, but not my favorite apricot brew by far. GranvilleTim (465), Granville, Illinois, USA Apr 19, 2009 Light golden pour with white head. Fruit aroma hits you first followed by the hops. Apricot flavor is more prominient than malt or hops. Sweetness comes through the whole taste. Not really experienced with fruit beers, I like this one. It has a nice flavor, nothing overbearing. I bet this would be good at a BBQ. RHeastings (374), Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, USA Apr 18, 2009 Enjoyed via 12oz bottle The first thing that one notices is the complete lack of any sort of hop aroma. This is odd, given the fact that it is advertised as a "storng I.P.A." However, the palate does not disappoint. Malt sweetness, balancing hops, and a wonderful flavor of fresh apricots come across, ending in a dry finish. Overall, not quite what you would expect, but another unique and very delicious beer from the good people at Dogfish Head. 41cubs (128), , New Jersey, USA Apr 18, 2009 An OK experience. The tart aspect creeps into the nose along with light white wine, but the problem comes with the flavor. It is nice at the start, reminiscent of and english ale with a fruity twinge, but the end and the aftertaste are dominated by the tart unripened version of apricot. Good one-timer. Sorry Dogfish Head. 2009 12oz. livelaughlovep (96), Lakewood, Ohio, USA Apr 17, 2009 Updated: May 18, 2009This reminded me of a fruity wine, more than a beer. There was a finishing sour note that truly clarified it was a beer, though. Very different. Apricot was a nice background flavor that didn’t overwhelm. Sweet, balanced with the malt, not very hoppy.
