If it had a decent sized head it would get a 5 for appearance. Aroma is not what I had expected--and the surprise is not altogether a good one. The apricot is there, but it is not as big and fresh as I had hoped. Instead it is a little stale and intertwined with the malt in such a way that compliments neither. Not awful, but far from a great fruit beer aroma. Taste is muddled and also lacking. Mild bitterness and light malt, but otherwise most of the apricot taste is lost in an unpleasant sourness. Medium mouthfeel with a long finish, in which when I breath out, I am finally able to get some decent sense of apricot. Not DFH’s best offering. altonbrownd (1888), Amsterdam, Netherlands

Taste of apricots. Too much for my liking. Oily. Dry finish. An okay beer from a great brewery. 86pants (3), USA does not count | 2.9 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 4/10 | 4/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 12/20 | Feb 23, 2009 this years bottle edition states "a ’serious’ ipa" i would expect a 90 -120 amount of hops from dogfish head. not too hoppy and more of a sour apricot flavor. not my favorite dfh. | 3.2 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 4/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 13/20 | Feb 23, 2009 Bottle. Pours a clear amber with a one finger tan head that results in spotty lacing. The nose is light citrus hops, apricots and malt. The taste is light citrus, caramel and a strange sourish apricot finish. Medium bodied. Disappointing – was hoping for a hoppy IPA with some apricot but it missed the mark. BroSpud (595), , Massachusetts, USA

My quest to taste all things Dogfish brought me to this one. It is quite good though it seems a bit thin for a Dogfish. Apricot taste did come through as did the hops. I guess I am spoiled by the other Dogfish offerings that I was expecting more from this one. jkwalking05 (1483), Arlington, Texas, USA
