Appearance - Light amber with good clarity and low non-lasting white head. Moderate carbonation.
Aroma - Fruity. Almost dominated by the apricots with some floral hop notes as well. Very much like a Magic Hat #9.
Flavor - Apricots with some floral hops, much like the aroma. There is a sourness apparent in the middle through the aftertaste which combines with a low bitterness.
Mouthfeel. Medium bodied with some astringency in the aftertaste and pleasing alcohol warmth.
Overall - Not a favorite. I would prefer a Magic Hat #9 as this beer feels too one dimensional. The apricots overwhelm the aroma and flavor and the sourness feels out of place. My least favorite of the Dogfish Head beers I’ve tried. 12many (231), Ohio, USA
| 2.6 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 3/5 | 5/10 | 2/5 | 10/20 | Jul 11, 2008 Bottle. Stong fruity apicot aroma but the floral citrus hops are rather lacking. Orange/amber with a small head. Flavor is bittersweet fruit with a short aftertaste. I found that the more I drank this the less I liked it. Disappointing from these guys. kappldav123 (1819), Markkleeberg, Germany

The beer in the glass is golden, not much foam. Very fruity aroma. Flavor the same, simply too fruity, too less "beery", not hoppy enough. Not so good! sebletitje (1903), Tampa, Florida, USA
| 2.8 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 2/5 | 5/10 | 2/5 | 13/20 | Jul 10, 2008 Hit or miss. This one missed its target. Pours amber with a finger thick white head. Arome is a nice mix of apricot and hops.
The taste is also a mix between the sugary sweetness of apricots and the sourness of hops.
The mouthfeel left a nasty thick creamy sour feel on the palate and teeth.
It carries its name of Aprihop quite well, not enough apricots and plenty of hops. shackinetics (132), Florida, USA
| 3.1 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 3/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 13/20 | Jul 10, 2008 Orange gold crisp, clear pour with mild white head. Fruity apricot and hop aroma. Starts out very sweet and interesting but does not deliver in the flavor department. Mild and super sweet. Average mouthfeel, decently warming alcohol content. The low-light of the Dogfish head flavors I’ve tried. StFun (535), Indiana, USA
| 2.9 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 4/5 | 5/10 | 2/5 | 10/20 | Jul 7, 2008 This one started out great. Looks very nice, pale orange with a fantastic looking head. Aroma is hops and apricots, a nice combination; some mild grapefruit and pine in the mix too. But the flavor just falls short, too much apricot overpowers the hops and makes for a palate that never quite decides what it wants to be. Way too much fruit in the mix. Leaves the mouth sticky and dry and never satisfied. Lubiere (4480), Ottawa, Ontario, Canada
| 3.1 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 3/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 12/20 | Jul 6, 2008 A golden ale with a thin creamy white head. An initial strong apricot aroma, very pungent, followed by a burned charcoal aroma, like burning wood. In mouth, an oily beer with an initial strong apricot, followed by bitter and clying fruit taste, unripe, green, then followed by the floral IPA hops. Medium bodied. Tasted in late nov. 2006. | 3.7 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 3/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 16/20 | Jul 6, 2008 Pours a light yellow in color with only minimal head. Smell is slight hops and just a hint of tart fruit. Taste is much the same with just a slight sublety of apricots. The apricots work well in this beer, but they could have been a little more pronounced. Non-cloying and very refreshing. Could drink a few of these easily.
