mrant (330), New York, USA May 18, 2008 Smells strongly of sweet fragrant apricots and a hint of nice sour hops. Pours a nice dark copper color with a fluffy white head. Taste is sour apricot, dominantly malts with some hops. Not really a typical IPA and nothing like any other apricot beer I’ve had. Still quite tasty though ThaBobfather (178), Cincinnati, Ohio, USA May 17, 2008 Another quality IPA from Dogfish Head. This is a very unique taste because it’s a fruit beer, sort of. It’s brewed with fruit but is really an IPA and therefore both avid beer drinkers and girls can enjoy it. joshwilfong (771), Cleveland, Ohio, USA May 15, 2008 orangish appearance with only slight white head. mild carbonation. flavor is of pale malt with definite apricot flavor present, but not necessarily creating a sweet aspect. the hops are mainly for bittering and their combo with the apricots are kind of peculiar. a unique idea and a refreshing beer, but i wouldn’t say it really should be considered a pale ale, just a fruite ale PhillyBeer2112 (2084), Orange Park, Florida, USA May 13, 2008 Nose is pretty much as advertised, a spicy resiny somewhat citric hop and fruity apricots. Starts creamy with a nice level of bready fruitiness, like an apricot cobbler, then a spicy and citric hop comes through on the side of the tongue and leads to a fairly bitter finish. This drinks almost too easily! A nice way to drink spring. Weak tea colored with a modest foamy head. jbuzz (658), South Milwaukee, Wisconsin, USA May 12, 2008 IPA tasting Three Cellars, Milwaukee. This is just genius !! Apricot and the hops are a fantastic pairing. The IPA its self come thought very lightly and the bland of the apricot and hops is very well balanced. No flavor jumps at you. esjaygee (1467), Oak Creek, Wisconsin, USA May 11, 2008 Amber with thin white head. Aroma of apricots mixed with citrus hops. Flavor is of light apricots and hops. So-so. dwyerpg (2519), Las Vegas, Nevada, USA May 9, 2008 Not a fruity aroma. A balance of hops in the aroma. A nice flavor of hops witha great finish. Not bitter and not real fruity. Pretty tasty. gotohelunc (473), Chapel Hill, North Carolina, USA May 7, 2008 Draft at Flying Saucer. Nice orange/brown color with a thin head. Big fruity nose. Obviously a lot of fruit tastes make up most of the character, and I was actually surprised to learn it’s make from a "strong IPA" as I didn’t pick up a significant hoppy bitterness. More so than many fruit beers, but certainly nothing like in the 60 Minute. For a style I’m generally not too fond of, this one is good and would make a nice change of pace beer, though I doubt I’d ever have more than 1 at a time. The wife likes it, which is always a plus, too.
