Petrucci914 (574), Green Bay, Wisconsin, USA Apr 21, 2008 Pours a clean golden color with a medium frothy head that fades thinly and leaves streams of bubbly lacing. Aroma is apricots, citrus hops, and sweet malts. Taste is really really refreshing. Having this ice cold after mowing the lawn would be sublime. The taste is really dominated by the apricots with the palate being defined by your typical IPA - citrus and bitter hops. Veer (355), Landskrona, Sweden Apr 20, 2008 Aroma: rich, dried apricots, fresh hops, some biscuity malts.
Flavour: sweet, dried apricot, dry hop aftertaste. Malty body.
Appearance: golden body, white head.
Palate: very crispy, fizzy... quite creamy for this much carbonation. craftbeerdesign (731), Alpharetta, Georgia, USA Apr 19, 2008 shared bottle on 4/6/08, rating from notes taken. really not that hoppy for a "strong IPA"... the apricots really take over this beer, but not in a bad way. It is really a fruit beer as classified by RateBeer. Slight sour finish as well. I’m glad I got to try it, but would not buy a whole 4 pack.... just not really my thing. Changed (162), Ithaca, New York, USA Apr 19, 2008 12oz bottle. Almost orange pour, off-white head, fairly quickly dissipating. Aroma and taste are markedly different. Marketed as IPA on the bottle, but lacks the hoppy punch. I’d categorize it as a more mature cousin of Magic Hat’s #9. Frauditor (148), Hagerstown, Maryland, USA Apr 19, 2008 draft at dogfish head bar and grill. a sweet smellling IPA. Pours dark yellow almost orange. slightly off-white medium head. tastes are citrus primarily, the apricot is there but faint - probably best that way. Good with the wurst and kraut. WillieV (191), Maryland, USA Apr 19, 2008 Bottle: a very high carbonated light brown pour with a very thin white head. Scent is full of hops. Flavor is nothing like taste. Can taste under ripened fruit (apricots). beezz86 (68), Jasper, Indiana, USA Apr 18, 2008 12 oz bottle. Poured a clear orange color with almost no head. I don’t really smell the apricot in the beer but more of toasty malt and light floral hops. The beer went down thin and oily with lively carbonation and a bitter finish. As with the aroma, I really don’t taste the apricot. I don’t know if it got a bad bottle, but overall I wasn’t very impressed with the beer. I thought it tasted like another IPA with nothing really special about it. Strykzone (1459), Wood River, Illinois, USA Apr 18, 2008 Fruit and ipa is an interesting mix. Not a lot of the ipa comes through in flavor or aroma. There is a bit of pine and hop bitter after taste. It is a generally sweet and light drinking beer. Can’t agree with the 86% rating, tho.
