Pours an amber color with a small to medium sized fluffy off white head. Nose is bitter and a tap hoppy with some fruit and sugar. I am strechting this nose because it is really weak. Taste is hoppy sweet and barely tastes like fruit. wEAK! specksnreds (55), USA
| 4.1 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 4/5 | 8/10 | 4/5 | 17/20 | Apr 9, 2008 I like this much better than the 2006 and 2007. It’s a little drier, with a more intense fruit nose. It’s nearly perfect, and my ideal fruit beer. A great acidic tang on the first taste. Nice even finish and a long linger on the palate. Not too bitter, and as in previous years, the fruit is in the nose. Love it. changeup45 (788), Orlando, Florida, USA
| 2.4 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 2/5 | 5/10 | 2/5 | 9/20 | Apr 7, 2008 Updated: Sep 11, 2009I’m a bit disappointed with this one. I was expecting a nice IPA with a touch of fruit added. Instead I got a fruit beer that hardly resembled a "strong IPA" or even any sort of IPA. It poured a bronze color and was topped with no head at all. As soon as I opened the bottle there was a rush of apricots and I never really got much past that in the aroma. This beer reminds me A LOT like Magic Hat #9, perhaps a little stronger alcohol presence. After drinking it a while there was some sort of flavor that resembled spicy hops but it’s too sweet and definitely overshadowed by apricots. I’ve got 3 more (purchased 4 pack) so I’ll give it another shot but unless something really changes I probably won’t get it again. Update -- as promised I had it again and nope, it’s just not very good. I can see it being alright if you’re in the right mood and want something fruity and a bit different. Just don’t expect a lot of hops. View it as a fruit beer, not an IPA. WickerBrew (312), Chicago, Illinois, USA
| 3.2 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 2/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 14/20 | Apr 7, 2008 YOu never know what you are going to get with a fruit beer, so I had low expectations. They always seem to be better when the fruit is not the main attraction, and that is true to a certain point here. Its like Magic Hat #9 on steroids, way hoppier and sharper. My only issue is it doesnt look good. Uncool bottle and no head. CaptBier (302), Birmingham, Alabama, USA
| 3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 5/10 | 4/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 12/20 | Apr 7, 2008 Bottle. Brownish amber, little head. Fruity, citric hop aroma. Sweet with a light touch of apricot and jam. Hard, clean, simplistic malt profile. Lingering bitter finish. Complex interplay between fruit and hops. gunsho (134), Louisville, Kentucky, USA

| 2.4 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 4/10 | 3/5 | 5/10 | 2/5 | 10/20 | Apr 6, 2008 1st impresions: conflicting flavors, sweet apricot, bitter. Prickly sensation, like bitter fuzzy peach skin. Very strange sweetness; if it’s apricot it tastes like apricot syrup, which keeps this from being enjoyable.
