Aroma is mostly malt with some citrusy hops and a ltitle bit of fruity apricot also present. The taste is much the same. Malt backkbone really comes through strong with the hops playing a minor role in the background. A suprising lack of hops for an IPA made by DFH. Hops are pretty much only detecable in a pretty dry and bitter finish. No ctrusy hop notes, suprising since they say they are using Willamette and Cascade. Apricot taste is not heavy and comes in a little bit in the finish but reallly makes it mark on the aftertaste. Pretty pleasant after the bitter finish. Its a pretty heave/thich beer with minimal carbonation. Not DFH’s best effort by any means. epf33 (222), Fairfax, Virginia, USA

Beautiful gold amber color. Carbonation helps with the hops which are more spicy than bitter. Apricot blends with the malt - not very pronounced. A really balanced, drinkable beer. I gotta say I was expecting a little more... was the apricot covering up minor flaws (oxidation, etc.)? Cybercat (784), Georgia, USA
| 4.3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 4/5 | 9/10 | 5/5 | 17/20 | Mar 13, 2008 Pours a clear dark brownish amber with not much head. Aroma has a sharp bite and a definite fruit smell, rather like a cider. Flavor is malty and fruity, and has a noticeable apricot component, as well as some hoppy bitterness. Finish is lively and has a good edgy feel. blutt59 (2092), Dallas, Texas, USA

| 3.9 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 3/5 | 9/10 | 4/5 | 17/20 | Mar 13, 2008 On the pour out of the bottle, a rocky white head with limited retention & lacing. Good clarity though. There was a very slight apricot aroma but nothing to write home about. But no hop aroma to speak of either. The taste though, the apricot notes were subtle, but present and not overwhelming. Balanced with a nice malt characteristic. The apricot flavor wouldn’t turn off someone who isn’t a fan of fruit beers. The flavoring hops rounded out the beer but were not the first thing I noticed about this brew. garretjax (103), Colorado, USA
| 3.7 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 4/5 | 14/20 | Mar 12, 2008 Clear orange red color with thin off white head. Definate apicot aroma off set by a bitter bite of piney hops. Full body and low carbonation. Initial apricot flavor followed by a brisk blow of hops finishing off in the sweetness of the fruit and alcohol. A bit of a sticky finish, but it’s crisp. jstraw (755), Chicago, Illinois, USA

Orange-amber with big, creamy beige head / Refined nose of baked apricots and sweet malt / Light to medium body, a touch sweet and tart, with moderate fruit and some hops on the good, bready finish / Flavors of baked apricots, bread, and spun sugar / An especially good, elegant fruit beer.
