| 4.1 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 4/5 | 9/10 | 4/5 | 16/20 | Dec 24, 2007 This beer was almost exactly one year old when I drank it.
A: It has an amber body with a 3/4 inch white head that fell pretty quickly. There is a bunch of visible carbonation and some sediment floating in the glass.
S: There is a good citrus hop aroma off of this with a bit of fruit in the background.
T: This is a pretty good tasting beer. There are both good hop and malt flavors. I would say that the hop level is a bit low for a DFH IPA, but it is still a good beer. The apricot isn’t very prevalent...I can only really taste it very slightly at the end blended in with some sweetness. This is a very balanced beer.
M: The beer has a good light medium body and is very refreshing. I decided to drink it on one of the first nice days so far this year.
D: This will be a great summertime beer. It has some decent fruit characteristic which I imagine will be stronger in a fresh beer. The nice thing about this beer is that it isn’t sickly sweet like other fruity beers. The hops cut the sweetness and provide a nice balance. doubleo (1104), San Diego, California, USA
| 4.3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 5/5 | 8/10 | 4/5 | 18/20 | Dec 22, 2007 Had this one for breakfast, it was great, much better than the 60 Minute IPA I had to go along with it. It pours an absolutely stunning orangish/amber color, with a head of somewhat larger bubbles. Smells of apricot and hops. Tastes sweet but not too sweet. Tastes just like the bottle states. A true IPA brewed with apricots. You get the fruit fruit and the hoppy fruit too. Pretty standard amber beer palate. Carbonation is just right. Like I said I had two for breakfast beginning at 8:30am and it was a good call. Of course I had to keep drinking all day, but I’ve got no problem with that. | 3.9 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 3/5 | 8/10 | 4/5 | 16/20 | Dec 20, 2007 bottle. Apihop poured a beautiful burnt orange amber, head was thin, creamy and off white. Nose was BIG on apricots, floral hops, some yeast as well. A strong perfume essence was strong also. Really nice clean apricot flavor as well. Even though it says 7%, its hidden very well. A great fruit brew! MadMan (497), Tempe, Arizona, USA
| 3.4 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 3/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 15/20 | Dec 14, 2007 Bottle. Pours a darker amber with small head. Subdued aromas of citrus and treelike hops along with dust and paper. Flavor is fairly lively with herbal and leafy hop flavors as well as an everpresent light apricot fruitiness. Sweeter at times but still has a bready maltiness and ever present hop induced bitterness. It’s pretty well done but not really a flavor that suits my tastebuds. I’m not apricot hater, but no apricot lover either. barleynhops (82), Alpharetta, Georgia, USA
| 3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 5/10 | 3/5 | 8/10 | 4/5 | 10/20 | Dec 6, 2007 Well, the name speaks for itself; definite IPA with a hint of apricots to boot. I like this beer because its not overly sweet, it still has an IPA taste. Kudos once again to the Brew Master. ajm (917), Los Angeles, California, USA
| 3.4 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 12/20 | Dec 5, 2007 Yeah it’s an IPA. Yeah you can taste apricots. I’m not blown away. I do think that the fruit lends a balance that most IPAs don’t have... but I guess that is another way of saying I don’t really go for IPAs. Gregis (1132), Shawnee, Kansas, USA
| 3.5 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 5/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 4/5 | 15/20 | Nov 30, 2007 Pours a pretty, clear copper with a ton of rising bubbles and a dense, frothy, ivory head that leaves behind creamy lace. The aroma is a bit disappointing, with the apricots and Cascades duking it out for supremacy. Neither actually seems to win the battle, and it results in a bit of a muddled fruity mess backed by a mild caramel note. Medium-bodied and creamy with a moderately bitter finish. The flavor is an interesting combination of a big malty, apricot front and a PNW hops finishing things off satisfyingly bitter. This is one of the better fruited beers that I’ve sampled, but I think I prefer my fruit beers and IPAs separate. KDorgan12 (163), Memphis, Tennessee, USA
| 3.3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 3/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 15/20 | Nov 27, 2007 Bottle-Memphis. Surprising malt flavor. This one kept me at bay for a long time since I didn’t know how I’d react to the apricot...well, it was delicious - more peachy than apricot but man, what a beer!
