krysztofar (344), belleville, Illinois, USA Jul 4, 2007 bottle. color is crystal clear and radient copper. a creamy light tan head about two inches tall rises and sinks pretty quickly. mostly hops on the caramel malt and only a faint apricot fuitiness. An initiall sweetness is over-ridden by piney resinous hops. the beer is sweet and elegantly structured, but i’m having a hard time finding much apricot here seems as if it mostly kills what would be a decent american style IPA. mfaulke (81), clemson, South Carolina, USA Jul 1, 2007 Maybe the apricot finish hid the usual hop bite I get from an IPA. This is not what I was expecting but maybe what I was expecting does not exist. I wanted the hop bite and the fruit finish. Still a good beer for summer. It’s sweet and refreshing and I bet it’s great on tap. Optigon (561), Bloomington, Indiana, USA Jun 30, 2007 Pours amber with a bubbly, moderate head. Aroma of hops and malt. Moderate mouth feel with a sweet, apricot flavor. Light hop bittering. Very pleasant and refreshing. glennmastrange (805), hobe sound, Florida, USA Jun 30, 2007 Bottle. This beer suprised me. I’m not a big fan of fruit in beer, but the aroma only slightly lets on that there is apricots in it. Moderate malt notes of nuts and caramel, pine and orange for the hops and a little dough for the yeast, and of course apricots. The head is frothy, white with fair lacing and is mostly diminishing. Color is a clear red/brown. Flavor starts moderately sweet and a bit acidic then finishes lightly sweet and moderately bitter and just a touch sour. Palate is light to medium and it’s between watery and oily with a lively carbonation. Shockingly good, but then again, it is from Dogfish Head. RiverHorse (454), New Jersey, USA Jun 28, 2007 Pours a light copper with a decent head. The smell was of hops and fresh fruit. The beer was very refreshing and tasty...good mouthfeel and a nice hoppy aftertaste. The apricots weren’t overdone, they just kind of let you know they are around. Gotta love DFH for having the balls to try new things. Floback (333), Naples, Florida, USA Jun 27, 2007 Updated: Oct 10, 2007Poured 1.5 cm of off-white head. Good lacing. Brisk aromas of hops and citrus. Strong flavors of bitter hops, clementine oranges, and grain with some alcohol. Overall good mouthfeel with high carbonation. Slightly metallic and citrusy aftertaste. Medium carbonation and body. This is a very refreshing summer brew for the 93 degree weather here in Florida. bbp182 (255), Levittown, Pennsylvania, USA Jun 26, 2007 I had this on tap at Isacc Newtowns. The smell is good, you can smell the hops. Fruity, citrusy smell as well as a fruity, bitter taste. Went down smooth. Very nice! brigg (213), Charlottesville, Virginia, USA Jun 25, 2007 (bottle) Copper body, medium off-white head. The aroma is very fruity and floral - citrus, apricots - along with underlying hops. Sweet apricot and malt flavor quickly fades into the dry, hoppy finish which lingers. Fairly refreshing. Medium bodied, and the carbonation can be felt on the tongue - a good mouthfeel.
