mcbackus (725), Merritt Island, Florida, USA May 26, 2007 bottle: pours a clear caramel colour with a large white head. aroma is sweet fresh fruit and hops. the flavour is sweet malts and apricots with a very nice finish of bitter pine hops. very refreshing ipa for the hot summers here in florida. rick10485 (53), oneonta, New York, USA May 22, 2007 IPA’s are my favorite brew although i do frown upon the too stylistic attempts of IPAs. This one perfected the stylish IPA. The apricot tones arent overpowering but are certianly there. Perfect "hoppiness" for an IPA. Poured releasing a fruity, hoppy, mouth watering aroma.....delicious with fish or crab cakes. masonjer (558), Holt, Michigan, USA May 22, 2007 The apricots in this IPA really change the flavor. There is still pine and citrus, but the apricots bring a stronger malt prescence and a sweetness. Pretty good brew, I will only get it once and a great while though. DragonStout (1380), Pataskala, Ohio, USA May 21, 2007 Pours a nice orangish, copper color.Lots of hops on the nose followed by apricots.Flavor is hoppy with the apricots chasing it.Finish was spicyand tingled in my mouth. yayforbeer (641), Orange Park, Florida, USA May 21, 2007 Dogfish Head loves to get off the beaten path with their beers and this is a good example. It’s a fairly decent IPA, with a light aroma of apricot mixed in with the hops. Flavor also is primarily that of a hoppy IPA, with a mild but easily recognizable apricot flavor. I works as a novelty and shows the typical high quality of Dogfish Head brews, but its not something I would want to drink regularly. Interesting and enjoyable one off. bebop329 (27), USA May 21, 2007 I was expecting this brew to be slightly sweeter with a bit more complexity. It is different than what I expected, but doesn’t dissapoint. The aroma of apricots is subtle and light. The hoppiness does not overwhelm the mild apricot flavors. Nicely balanced and perfect with homemade pizza. skibumphishead (180), USA May 21, 2007 4 pack of 12oz bottles from the spirit haus... Brie has been wanting to try this one for a while. Very nice pour into my dfh snifter. This tastes like a dfh IPA with some apricot. Or a magic hat #9 with some balls. I wish that there were more hops in this, but that might mask the fruit juice. This was easy to drink at 7% and went well with some pizza after a warm day. Not bad, but it should be in 6 packs. TURDFERGUSON (1594), Carrboro, North Carolina, USA May 20, 2007 Bonus Bottle from trade with John Adam2002. Thanks. Pours a clear orange amber with a thin white head that fades quickly. Nose is a bit weak for an ipa, not as hoppy as i remember it. Slight fruity notes. Flavor is off too, bitter and metalic with a mild "apricot" flavor--i guess. Not my favorite product from DFH.
