Candied liccorice with a non-lingering acidic almost burnt bitterness that seems to come from fruit peel and pit more than hops. Another unique one from the master of change of pace brews.

Well balenced. not too hoppy. Sour fruit notes on the back end of my palate, citrus. Very enjoyable. This beer really does finish well. Very refreshing beer

bottle .. .. Apricot, fruity/citusry aromas predominate, some maltiness in the background to support the fruit. Might be some hoppiness there, but it’s masked by the pungent apricot. .. Clear, Dark Orange, lt tan head. medium bubbles. .. Fruity sweetness w/ a bitterness up front. Flavor dominated by apricots. .. Med body, light carbonation. . . Well done fruit beer that will keep the hop heads happy - and maybe convert the fruities. ..

Bottle thanks to john adams2002. Poured a clean orange color with a nice off white head. Had a nice apricot aroma followed by hops and sweet caramel malt. Taste was mild apricot with a good bitterness and fruity dry finish. Not much an IPA like the bottle states, but a good refreshing brew.

(Bottle) Pours an amber color with a white head. Aroma of sweet malts and apricot. Taste is mildly hoppy, with a lot of apricot in the mix. A mild beer, with a bitterness that is not as strong as I expected. Good lacing. This is a good beer, but nothing spectacular.

12 oz bottle shared with Duane. Light amber colored pour, totally transparent, with a decent head. Grassy hop aroma and flavor. Some nice sweetness from the apricots but it’s not very strong. Interesting beer, but not anything special in my book.

April 2008 re-rate. Meh. To the educated palate, this seems so much more syrupy and artificial than it did the first time around. Expecting a refreshing, dry IPA with a subtle apricot infusion, I got more of a generic feeling pale ale with an overdose of apricot syrup. Decently drinkable, but not refreshing like I remembered it to be.

Original rating 5/19/07: 7/4/6/3/15=3.5. Poured from bottle into lager glass. Translucent copper color with a smallish off-white head with strong lacing. Distinct aroma of apricot and some malt. Taste is that of apricot, malt, and just the right amount of hops. Enjoyed this one very much. It was better than I expected. The fruit is far more subtle than in other fruited beers, which is a good thing.
