A strong IPA brewed with real apricots and finished with whole leaf Willamette and Cascade hops.

I remember trying this beer a few years ago and not thinking it was all that good. Not sure if itís changed or I have, but this is tasty! Clear copper/amber color with an off-white head. I couldnít really detect any apricot in the aroma, but I swear there was a mild bacon scent in there along with toasted malt. The malt is very forward on the taste with caramel and a little butterscotch. The hops step right up after this with an earthy, almost mushroomy quality (in a good way). Then, finally, the fruit hits. Not sure if Iíd peg it as apricot specifically without knowing itís in there, but definitely stone fruit with a slight sour edge to it. A light soy sauce saltiness seems to sneak in here too. Thereís a little alcohol bite which really compliments the other components and flavor. Finishes with a sour fruitiness and slight vegetal bitterness. Delicious and interesting.

Poured from the bottle to a pint glass, this is a good beer, not sure if it is an IPA though. Lots of good flavor but none of them are hops. Maybe apricot juice neutralizes them, I dunno but itís 7%, different, and very easy drinking, just donít think hop should be in the name. Expectations can be a mf sometimes.

"great interplay between the sweet apricot and the immense hop aroma and flavor. WAY more than your average fruit beer, itís what I wish all fruitees tasted like. similar to an ipa in style, big hoppy afterbite, with the fruit up front. Great on the palate. 4/09 - a little more sweet malt under the huge hops and fruit than i remember. great finish after a sub-par cherry ale. same scores. "

10-OCT-2014, bottle @home, from Kihoskh. Almost clear, dark golden with lasting, lacing off-white head. Hoppy aroma. Grape fruit and exotic fruit. Taste the same. Some spice, citrus, apricot, and malt. Touch of sweetness, very bitter. Nice creamy, medium body. Really an IPA. Funny that this can end up in another category than IPA.

Bottle. Pours fairly clear rusty brown. Minimal off white head. Nose is floral and tropical. Taste adds grape. Thin mouthfeel. Bit of sourness in the aftertaste.

12 oz bottle pours hazy amber with a off white head . Aroma of malts, apricot, floral and pine. Taste is sweet, pine and a hint of apricot.

Pours from 12oz bottle a slightly hazy, deep copper color with a small, off-white head that is mostly diminishing. Aroma hints of apricot, floral hops, toasted buttery malts, grapes, and light spices. The texture is both thick and bubbly. This beer tries to be both an IPA and a fruit beer and fails to do either one very well. It is drinkable but rather disappointing. Not my cup of tea, no pun intended.

12 ounce bottle pours a deep reddish copper color with off-white to tan fluffy head that lasts a long time. Small amount of fruity aroma not really overwhelming. Light bodied high in carbonation. Nice balanced flavor with a bit of apricot at the end. Not really much of anything special. mediocre

Bottled. Golden honey hue with a ejite head. Aroma is hoppy and as you might have guessed, apricot. Taste is hoppy with the apricot coming through up front. Maltiness in the back. Nice ipa.

A sweet fruity ipa. Amber color, aroma of piney hops and apricots. Flavor is similar with an addition of malty sweetness and roundness. Well balanced with a hint of bitterness in the finish. Medium bodied and quite good. A more substantial ipa than the apricot ale that magic hat brews. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone
