3.6 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 16/20
Another Dogfish offering that is difficult to categorize. Aroma of apricot and hops as one might suspect. They are a good mix but faint. Nice copperish color with a medium head. Average weight and carbonation. This had a little sourness mixed in from the fruit. The malt background was faint and the hops upfront but not overwhelming. It appears the fruit kept them subdued. Easy to drink but not a substitute for a good IPA.

3.6 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 14/20
Pours amber/copper, small head.
Nose shows sweet malt, overripe apricot and some booze.
The apricot is stronger as a flavour. Some spicy hops too, along with a little hot booze and rich sweet malt.

3.9 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 17/20
12 oz bottle poured into a shaker pint. Clear amber with off-white head. Good retention and lacing. Aroma is citrus and floral hops, some grainy malt, and a touch of apricot. Taste is initially sweet malt but turns to citrus peel hoppy bitterness and closes with apricot flesh on the swallow. Medium body, moderate carbonation, texture is on the slick side, fruity dry finish.

Poured from the bottle to a pint glass, this is a good beer, not sure if it is an IPA though. Lots of good flavor but none of them are hops. Maybe apricot juice neutralizes them, I dunno but it’s 7%, different, and very easy drinking, just don’t think hop should be in the name. Expectations can be a mf sometimes.

4.2 AROMA 9/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 9/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 16/20
"great interplay between the sweet apricot and the immense hop aroma and flavor. WAY more than your average fruit beer, it’s what I wish all fruitees tasted like. similar to an ipa in style, big hoppy afterbite, with the fruit up front. Great on the palate. 4/09 - a little more sweet malt under the huge hops and fruit than i remember. great finish after a sub-par cherry ale. same scores. "

4 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 16/20
10-OCT-2014, bottle @home, from Kihoskh.
Almost clear, dark golden with lasting, lacing off-white head.
Hoppy aroma. Grape fruit and exotic fruit. Taste the same. Some spice, citrus, apricot, and malt. Touch of sweetness, very bitter. Nice creamy, medium body.
Really an IPA. Funny that this can end up in another category than IPA.
