Slight scent of citrus amongst all the hops. The flavor of the apricot mellows out the aggressive hops. Great beer. Only problem is that it’s smoothe enough to go down too easily.

Why do fruit beers not get as much loving as others? Everyone should be ashamed of themselves. There are fruits everywhere.

The head is robust, the body red-brown and cloudy. It smells interesting, hoppy-fruity, aromatic, creamy-fruity-apricot. The taste is creamy-fruity, hop-aromatic, a bit bitter, apricot, bit sour. Delicious.

What a sweetie. This is the beer equivalent of a favoured niece that you just want to cuddle to death. It’s a good looking beer with a deep stewed apricot colour and a fulsome cream coloured head. It also carries a wafting aroma of full, rich orchard-fruit malt aromas that compliment the apricots nicely. There’s also the tasty, resinous scents of Pacific NW hopping. To taste, it is full, thick, unctuous and almost literally juicy. The sweetness is there but not sickly. It is beautifully balanced with gorgeous flavours of stewed fruit and hoppy bitterness. Deep and complex, attractive and charming. I know what I’m going to do with my apricots next year.

0.355l bottle @ Tribeca Tavern NYC. As good as clear in the glass with a light dark golden body and a lovely looking almost everlasting kinda beige - red top. (it is really red in this place so it’s hard to tell the proper color). Really nice fresh aroma with, yeah, apricot and malts. Some grassy hops and a little trace of lemon zest. The mouthfeel is soft oily and the carbonation is just below average. Fruity almost a bit tropical flavors here. It has a red-malty thing going on, little bit of lemony juices also appearing. A little bit of cacti? Nice enough but not wow-moment in the taste to be honest. 10.06.2013

Copper with a good sheet of light tan foam. Spot lace. Smells of english malts and slight tea like hops - reminds me of an ESB. Bitter bite with a solid sweet english malt habitat and only the slightest tartness from apricot in the finish. Meh. Medium bodied with hi carb and a semi dry finish. I’m not impressed with this beer whatsoever. 3.5/2.5/2.5/3/2.5
Review from notes on 5/28/10
A: Deep orange. Extreme clarity. No head. Nearly no ribbons.
S: Apricots up front with pine and a hint of mint to compliment. Rich malty aroma, standard DFH malt backbone. As this beer warms, the apricot dies down and the malt takes over.
T: Warm. Malty with crystal malt. Initially, sour apricots converge with pine and astringency of cascades(?). Very sweet for an IPA, and as it warms more malt flavor dominates.
M: Medium to light body with light carbonation, ease of movement in mouth allows for flavor identification.
D: Fun IPA, always a treat in the spring. Great IPA for beginners, or people that just don’t car for IPA. 3.5/3.5/4/3.5/4-3.83
