4.2 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 9/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 17/20
Growler from Chuck’s 85th. Pours deep reddish amber with medium creamy head. A light hop aroma with hints of fruit. Taste is heavy pine and lighter citrus hops. Nice chestnut malt and restrained apricot on the finish. Kinda peachy as others have noted. Very refreshing. Much more of an IPA than a fruit beer. This has to be built off the 60 minute base, which is not a bad thing. Some of Dogfish’s wacky ideas fall flat but this is just right for me. Not so big that you can’t enjoy a few either.

just a slight hint of apricot, the apricot really gets overwhelmed by the hops (a good thing) much tastier that I expected; not your average fruit beer

I was stoked for this beer. What a cool concept, apricots and Dogfish Head, right? Eh. I didn’t enjoy it like I thought I would. It wasn’t a bad beer, but it didn’t keep me drinking. It was a little bitter and not really smooth, and tasted more reminiscent of grapefruit than any other fruit flavor I can associate with a beer. Just okay.

3.8 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 16/20
Aroma - caramel malt, heavy hop, sweet drupe fruits
Appearance - dark orange body with an average white head.
Taste - sweet caramel and drupe fruit, I assume must be apricot and complimentary fruits.
Palate - body is medium, verge of oil, average carbonation, and a hopped finish.

4.5 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 9/10 PALATE 5/5 OVERALL 18/20
Sent is faint at first followed up by a nice Africa tropical citrus fruits smell was a slight yeasty finish. Color is perfect and nice deep orange E amber color. Taste is divine with a nice sweet water hoppy flavor with citrus followed by the nice apricot finish. Flavor flushes over your tongue perfectly. Overall this is one of my favorite fruit IPAs wish I would have rated it earlier.

Draft - This is all IPA...but then right when you think you’re done you’re hit with the sweet fruity apricot flavor. It’s a balance between the two that you won’t find anywhere else. Not for everyone, but interesting enough to get me.

Vom Fass im Brew Pub in Rehoboth Beach. Orangene Farbe mit cremigem Schaum. Herbfruchtige Nase mit kräftigem Hopfen. Der Geschmack ist überraschend herb. Die Aprikose kommt ganz zum schluss. Toll wie alle Biere von Dogfish Head!
