well i must say, this is disapointing. it looks good, but doesnt taste great. aroma is pretty bland. i’m getting a TINY bit of apricot. and some malt, surprisingly i detect no hops. quite odd......flavour is sweet, and yes, there is apricot, but again, i’m getting no hoppiness from a so call STRONG IPA, disapointing brew.

Poured a clear amber color with a huge sparse white head. Aroma is primarily floral hops, but a hint of apricot exists. Taste is hoppy overall, but the apricots balance the bitterness well. Never had a bad beer from Dogfish Head.

On tap. Aroma showcases tart apricots on a sweet malt base with citrusy (and maybe floral?) hop notes nicely complimenting the tartness, but taking a back seat for an IPA-based beer. Flavor pretty sweet (but far from cloying) with the apricot and malt meshing, some tartness sticks around, and the hops act as they did in the aroma. Small-bubble carbonation reminiscent of Belgians. Quite very drinkable and balanced, especially for a beer that exhibits such sweetness in the flavor. Very refreshing, but probably needs to be consumed fresh, fresh, fresh! 8-4-7-5-15/3.9

Rerate 4/16/09. Bottle. Aroma of biscotti and generally toasted malt, sugary sort of apricot. Very odd. Flavor is quite muddled, with nothing really coming through except some dry apricot. Oddly heavy in the mouth. Not much good to be found this time around. 5-4-5-3-11/2.8

12 fl oz bottle. Dark reddish amber. Fruity and malty bold apricot aroma. Strong maltiness, but surprisingly weak and non-interesting mouthfeel and body. They’ve done better beers than this.

Light brown/dark bronze. Small, bubbly, off white head. Apricot, cedar, citrus, resinous hops-aroma is light yet pungent. Big, multifaceted hops with a generous amount of apricot and just enough malt. Aprihop is the only name for this beer. Medium bodied-smooth and tingly at the same time-crisp, clean, dry, slightly bitter finish-bitter apricot aftertaste. Refreshing brew, perfect after doing some hard work.

Bottle from City Beer Store in SF. Nice golden appearance with an off-white head. Aroma is malt, light fruits, and some hops. Flavor is similar. Calling it an IPA is a bit of a stretch, but there are noticeable hops. Sweet and tangy citrus/apricot flavor on the finish. Palate is enjoyable with medium-high carbonation. I’ve heard this compared to Magic Hat #9 and it is a similar beer, just with a little more hops and overall flavor.

amber, off white head. aroma is big and perfumy and delivers what the name implies - apricots and hops. the flavour holds less apricot but it tastes like a nicely fruity pale ale. nice.
