Commercial Description:
A Weizenbock brewed as a collaboration between our brewpub brewer Mike Gerhart and our Milton microbrewery brewer Jesse Prall. This beer is named after Jesse’s dog.
The guys brewed Beanie Bock with German dark wheat malt, pilsner malt, Munich malt and crystal malt. It is a very malty, full bodied bock beer with a spicy note flavor due to the wheat malt used. The bock clocks in at 9% abv, and 15 ibu.

Had this at the brewpub. They should consider adding it to their bottle lineup. Dark brown color with a small layer of head. Aroma was sweet with caramel, banana, and spice. Flavor was pleasantly smooth with caramel, brown sugar and light banana. Highly enjoyable.

On tap. Dogfish Rehoboth Beach. Looked like a dark tan beer with average caracter. Taste wasn’t bad, but wasnt’ anything to jump out of my seat about. When I go to dogfish i expect the best. This beer fell a little short of that, but i made everything better with a bottal of Raison D’Extra. Try it out if you think you would like a Wheat Yueling on steroids.

Draft at DFH in Rehoboth Beach. Had two pints during lunch. Came out an dark brown. Small tan head. Nose was light banana, dark malts, faint caramel, soft spice and grains. Taste was a wheat, light spice, banana, candyish notes, caramel and toasty malts. Body was medium-full with moderate carbonation. Finishes with more caramel, brown sugar, spice and fruity notes. Went down very nice!

Draft, Rehoboth. Pours a murky, rust-brown color; light tan head with good retention and lacing, coating the glass. Pleasant clove and banana in the aroma; brown sugar and a hint of pepper. Chewy, clove-dominated mouthfeel: slightly chalky, dry character, with a white pepper and brown sugar sharpness to it; bananas and candy sugar in the background. Ends slightly dry and chalky, with cloves and brown sugar. Tasty, but the clove / brown sugar dryness really dominates.

Poured a cloudy, amber color with a medium sized off white head that left light lacing on the glass. Aroma of nuts, caramel, banana, faint floral hops. Taste of caramel, nuts, citrus fruits, spicy clove, and no alcohol.

On tap-at Rehoboth Brewpub-Pours a cloudy ruby red/copper color w/a moderate tan head. Heavy, nutty. roasted malt aroma. Beer delivers w/a serious malt flavor w/overtones of roasted nuts, caramel, & toffee. A classic bock style w/no trace of hops whatsoever, which figures as beer contains 7 different types of malt (according to the bartender). Very smooth, very drinkable, very enjoyable; doesn’t really taste like a 9% beer; alcohol is well hidden. Reminds you somewhat of their Zwaanend’ale. Try & get here & try this beer if you are a fan of this style, but you better hurry as it’s one of their brewpub specials & they usually come & go pretty quickly!! Went on tap 3/22!
